Typical Saturday Morning

Around here, our Typical Saturday mornings are when the world feels like it took a deep breath and decided to ease up just a little. We don't usually have any place that we have to be.
You might find me sitting on the porch with my favorite mug....the one that has seen better days, but it still keeps my coffee warm and as I've said before.....keeps my secrets safe.
Sam usually joins me and we discuss how well we slept.....or didn't sleep!!  lol.  We then discuss any plans that either of us have made, and if there is anything particular that we want to do.
Eventually the day may pick up.....meaning that we might drive in to town and have lunch or make a quick stop at the grocery store. BUT...the first part of the morning belongs to stillness and peace.
Whether the day ends up being full of activities or full of rest, I've learned that starting it slow and sweet makes all the difference in the world.

What does your Saturday morning look like?

Our temps are expected to be in the lower 90's today....no rain in the forecast!
We do plan to drive down to the Farm and check out all the mulching that is being done on the land. I plan on grabbing a few photos of the progress that has been made.  Other than that, I most likely will swim this afternoon...I take that back, cause I cannot swim...🌴
I plan on relaxing in the pool this afternoon!! lol.

Whatever this Beautiful Saturday morning holds for each of you, my dear friends, I hope it starts soft and ends with a lot of smiles.

Shug.

  1. your Saturday sounds wonderful, enjoy your non-swimming time in the pool. our days are the same 365 days of the year, not decisions to be made.

  2. It sounds like you have a delightful day planned, Shug. I hope you enjoy it. You asked about your readers' Saturday mornings & what they look like. Since Dan retired 7+ years ago, our Saturdays are the same as any other day during the week. In fact, most days I have a hard time remembering exactly what day of the week it actually is. :-) Love, Andrea xoxo

  3. Your Saturday sounds perfect for you.

My husband’s tradition is to observe Shabbat from Friday evening to Saturday so we do keep things a bit more peaceful, and focused. We do not go to stores on Saturday’s if we can help it. And it truly is a day of rest and rejuvenation as we enjoy getting out into nature. A day truly set apart. Today we’re planning a snow day in the mountains to cool off from the 103 temperatures today and enjoy a picnic with just the two of us! ❤️

    1. a day visiting the snowy top mountains sounds so fun. 103 is pretty warm which would make me want to go to the mountains. We are supposed to be in the low 90's. very unusual for this time of the year.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing your life here, dear friend! Saturday mornings for myself vary, but usually I begin with a good breakfast, then do some cleaning and organizing. I try to keep my grocery and any other needed shopping during the week, as weekends are often more chaotic.

  6. Normally, our Saturday mornings are spent at home with a slow start, but this morning was a little different. We were up early and headed to our favorite auction house that is about 45 minutes away. A fun morning and then lunch out at a favorite restaurant. Your Saturday mornings sound like a relaxing time. Enjoy your relaxing time in the pool this afternoon. XX

    1. Hi Linda...A good breakfast is so important. I usually grocery shop during the week as well, but with us having to drive 150 miles twice this week to the doctor in Dallas, I missed grocery shopping.

  9. Our Saturday mornings are pretty much like all the rest, since we are both retired and have no real schedule. Except for our dates, which are mostly doctor appointments! Your header and background is eye-poppingly gorgeous!! I so much appreciate how you change them so beautifully. I am surprised that you can't swim, since you have such a beautiful pool!

    1. I love changing the header and backgrounds on my blog. It must ADHD...lol I read the other day where if you are a person who changes your furniture around a lot, you most likely are ADHD. No...have never been able to swim and this is the second pool we have had. First one was at another home and it was deep...This one is a sports pool...deepest part in 5 1/2 feet.

  10. For the last month, each Saturday has been us out and about adventuring. Today though, at least for right now we are home, home, home and LOVING it. On my second cuppa, soon to pop fries in the air fryer lid. Pretty good day!

  11. We have a neighborhood pool - but I wish we had our own. Privacy and all. I have to admit - I clean every (most) Saturday mornings with my husband.
Yours sounds much better. Spending time together and relaxing!
Our electricity went off last night - I am so grateful for electricity!

  12. Since we are Old and retired one day tends to run into the next. I have to look at the calendar sometimes to be absolutely sure of the day.
We have really taking it easy since 2 weeks ago and our garage sale. Finally yesterday most of the "stuff" that hadn't been put back onto the shelves is back where it belongs and we now know where things are again. Coughs are finally gone but Dave's Diverticulitus or what ever he had the drain put in last November is acting up again. Thought maybe we were going to visit the ER last night. He slept well and feels much better today. Will IT ever end???
Thursday we had our small group over for dessert and catching up on some issues one of the couples was having. God is good and prayers were answered. I really hadn't wanted anyone over but I'm so glad we did. House got cleaned and the Lord's mercy's were present.
This morning a fellow we had sold some Disney things to at the garage sale came by to pick some more things up. He's in his late 20's and honestly loved picking our brains and hearing our life story and involvement with Disney. It was fun to have someone actually interested in hearing what we had to say. We are staying in touch.
So now we are just sliding into the rest of the day and staying in the AC since it's 100F .
I guess I am Chatty Cathy today.
Enjoy your Saturday and I too had my coffee in my favorite cup that says " I'm Having a Moment and the verse " Blessing & Peace from God" I Thes . 1:1

  13. I love your header today. It screams summer!
Our Saturday is often the same. However, today I was hosting a baby shower at church for our Pastor's wife, so I was out the door early!
