Oh say can you see?
I have added a touch of red, white and blue to my home decor.
In just a bit over 4 weeks, we will be celebrating the 4th of July so I figured it was time to pull out the patriotic decorations.
Let's talk about the joy of decorating for the 4th of July. (you all know I love to decorate)
Starting with my front porch...
I made a stop at Hobby Lobby yesterday and found the sparkle sticks to be very reasonably priced....It is so easy to dress up the front porch by adding a few little flags and some of the red, white and blue sparklers in your flowerpots....maybe add some blue pillows on your chairs, and BOOM....instant spirit.
(I haven't done the porch yet, but it is on my to-do list for today)
Inside:
For my main table, I used my inherited crocheted table cloth (from my MIL)....
I then added red, white, and blue place mats, white charges and blue and white plates.
In the center of the table, I used a sparkly vase and added rolled up placemats that kinda resemble fire crackers. I may or I may not add toppers to the rolled up place mats to make them resemble firecrackers!!
I have a few other things to add today, and WA-LA....my table will be finished..
and here is what I did with my round table in the kitchen area.
I have a different centerpiece idea for this table and will use it as soon as I get it put together.
Above the fireplace..
I just realized in looking at this picture, that I need to move the "America" banner UP ↑↑↑.
Here are few bonus points that I will do ......
1. Hang a wreath on the front door.
2. Make a tray of red, white and blue cupcakes.....add sprinkles!
3. Add a few white lights here and there
4. Grab a few Mason Jars with battery-powered fairy lights..add a few flags and place them in a few areas in the flower beds.
5. Add some floating lights to the pool.
As Independence Day draws near.....I'm excited about lighting up our home and our hearts by adding a little Americana magic into as many places as I can....
Bright, a little loud, and absolutely unforgettable...
Shug......
How beautiful, Shug! I love all your decorations and the luscious dining room tablecloth too. Thank you for sharing a peak into your gorgeous home. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love it. The 4th of July is my second favorite holiday. My grandpa Sam loved the 4th of July. We always made a big deal celebrating.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday America!
I love this! I was just thinking that it's time for me to get out a little Americana in the house. We have small flags in the front flower bed, but I may add one to the porch planter. I like your ideas and may have to visit Hobby Lobby!
ReplyDeleteI do so admire your skill in decorating, Shug. This Fourth of July will certainly be festive at your home. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe idea of the rolled placemats is so simple but so wonderful. You my Dear are a decorator master.
ReplyDeleteLove that crocheted tablecloth too. Gorgeous.
We always fly our flag year around except in the rain. This year will be no exception. Maybe I will get enough umph to do something this year.
I hope you are not getting too much rain. I saw on the news that Dallas was flooded.

You have so much decorating energy. I used to have that years ago:) Have Fun Shug!
ReplyDeleteI love your decorations! Bright and unforgettable I can go for, loud not nearly so much. :)
ReplyDeleteYour decorating posts have always been my favorite. And you do not just put things out, you use your creativity to make amazing things!!! I have some 4th decorations, but not enough gumption to put them out. Maybe you have given me the push I need. Please post again when you have all the other things out!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the bells & pom-poms. And what you did with the rolled up placemats is so cool!! You could do this with almost any other season as well.
ReplyDeleteeverything looks great and I agree, move the banner up a tad. we dread the 4th because even though fireworks at home are illegal, about 10 of nearby neighbors ignore it and they set off firework for days before and all day of and the day after. we can see the city fireworks from our front yard, but go to bed before they do them.
ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. You do it up right! I have crocheted table cloth from my mom. The fabric tablecloth reminds of some that she had on her table over the years. Love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks like it came from Country Home magazine. Really nice, Shug. Yesterday I bought 2 cloth flag garlands to hang outside. June 14 is flag day and this is when I typically start my patriotic decorations which I leave up till July 31. I’d like a patriotic wreath for the door but haven’t actually went out to look for one yet. Hopefully before the 14th.
ReplyDeleteCute idea with the placemats looking like firecrackers - you’re so creative.
God bless. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Well my goodness, I've never decorated for the Fourth except for our big beautiful American Flag. Your tables are so pretty! I just might do a little patriotic decorating after seeing your post. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post... and great tips you have shared, Shug. The tablecloth from your mother-in-law is absolutely beautiful. All of your ideas are so good. Now, I need to get some battery operated fairy lights because you just gave me an idea. xx
ReplyDeleteHow creative you are, Miz Yankee Doodle Dandy! (*grin*) I love changing up my tabletop with placemats, but have nothing for July 4. Yet!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Shug!! I'm a sucker for a pretty banner and that one is just darling. I love all your red, white and blue decor, so many great ideas. Now I'm ready to whip some patriotic flair up around my house! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI admire people who go all out with July 4th decorations. I am not one of them :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I love your home, and everything you have done for 4th of July. Such a pretty table setting, and your home looks so comfortable and inviting! I've slimmed down my decorations for seasons now. I have a large American Flag I will hang on the balcony, and a couple small flags on sticks that I put in the flower pots. Will probably have a hotdog to finish it off...haha.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful. Your table is awesome. I love putting out patriotic decorations and I tend to let them stay from Memorial day up until I'm ready to decorate for fall
ReplyDeletegreat idea of arrangements ....make space looks beautiful....
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day
What beautiful and fun touches!! It's going to be here before we know it. ❤️💙
ReplyDeleteI love your decorations. Very skilful, well done. God bless you and yours always.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...you have such a lovely home. Wishing you a beautiful day my friend.
