I'm a bit late today.....
I started out early this morning....Left the house at 9:00 a.m. and headed into town. Had a few stops to make before meeting friends for lunch.
First Stop: The "At Home" store. Didn't find what I was looking for...probably didn't need it anyways.
Second Stop: A furniture store: Found a couple of things I liked....Especially a piece for the TV to set on!
The number 144 caught my eye.....This was the inventory number....
Next was a sofa and chair....
Then it was on to yet another furniture store...
NO Purchases made!!
I mostly was just getting some ideas.
NEXT........
Lunch date with friends. We went to "BJ's."
I would rate the lunch date and the conversations a "10 +"
The food....maybe a "6"
The service...... a "7"
I had one of the specials which was a mini pizza, salad and a pizookie strawberry shortcake for dessert.
We got there at 11:00 and left the restaurant at 1:40.....LOL 💛 we really do enjoy each other's company and we had a lot of catching up to do.
Today was a gift.....simple, fun and full of friendships. The kind of day that leaves your heart a little lighter and your smile a little brighter. Moments like these reminds me that joy doesn't always come wrapped in big things, it often shows up in good company and the warmth of long time friendships.
shug..
Some of the best days of my life have been doing just what you did today. I love getting ideas from furniture stores and lunch with friends, even if the food and service is 6 and 7 is worth it for the fun, fellowship and laughter of friends. If I lived closer, I would have invited myself...HaHa.. Love you.
ReplyDeleteI found myself pondering your whereabouts, anxiously considering whether I needed to summon the blog police to embark on a search for you! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that you were out exploring for inspiration! The first sofa you featured closely resembles a sofa I once owned, though unfortunately, my husband wasn't a fan. Grrrrr! Now, I'm left with a newer sofa that doesn't quite speak to my taste, while he hardly ever sits on it because he prefers his comfy, oversized chair.
There's nothing quite like a lively lunch with the girls; it always adds a delightful bounce to my step and brightens up my day!
I agree, my greatest joys always come from the simplest things. ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a good day for you! I have that first sofa ours is microfiber brown...I love it !
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice day! Good idea to check everything out to get ideas. Our sofa looks a lot like that first one, but without the hobnails. I really like it!
ReplyDeleteA lunch with good friends is such a good thing!
It takes me a long time to decide on a big purchase like a piece of furniture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun & busy day! That big grey chair looks so comfortable. Your blog is so pretty today!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you ended up with anything - but you got ideas and didn't buy anything. When do you or will you make up your mind? It's hard to buy such big pieces for me. The best part of your day was your visit with your friends. That is the best. Glad you have them!
ReplyDeleteLooking and trying before buying or deciding takes a lot of time and is a good way of filling time before the main event - lunch with friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day, Shug :) I love those extended lunches where you are talking and laughing and the next thing you know, you've been there for 3 hours!
ReplyDeletesounds like the perfect day. I like browsing through furniture stores. Not necessarily to buy anything but to look at whats there and what I would put in my dream home...lol
ReplyDeleteLunch with friends is always fun and isn't it amazing how the time flies by
I like to visit furniture stores to get ideas as well but rarely buy anything. I'm so glad that you had a fun lunch date with your friends! Does a body good to get out like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time you shared with your friends, Shug! Yes, joy can be had in the smallest of ways. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI like that velvety sofa - I used to have one just like it in a brown shade. I think it was my favorite, as I always sat on the corner end with my legs stretching. That chair looks comfy too, only in a different design. It's always nice to meet with friends and visit for a while. A cute picture of all of you, Shug.

What a wonderful day for you. Will you buy a couch or just there for ideas? We bought one maybe two years ago. $400 bucks. I think it was. Not bad.
