Wednesday

Is it just me, or have you noticed too, that Wednesday shows up every week?  Wednesday always seems like the middle child of the week....awkwardly wedged between the Monday blues and the full-blown freedom dance of Friday.

I've noticed that Wednesdays don't usually show up bearing cupcakes or the excitement of a three day weekend. They show up with a lot of dread, unless of course, YOU determine in your own soul to make Wednesday a good day. We just need to pause, shake off whatever chaos Monday or Tuesday delivered and move forward, expecting a great day.

If today feels long, stretch it with a smile. If your to-do list is growing faster than your patience, then be sure to write "get some rest" on that list and make sure you cross it off before the day ends. If someone gets on your nerves today, then bless yourself with your favorite cookie

This middle of the week "Wednesday" can feel so long because it seems like a long stretch (both ways) from the weekend we had a few days ago and the weekend to come.  I often laugh when I remember what one of my sweet friends had to say about the "W" day. She said: "Wednesday's are like dragging a wagon through molasses."  LOL.

I had never thought of it that way!!

Remember though, it's not just "Hump Day." It's HOPE day, a day to remind yourself that you have come this far, and there is still time to finish the week with purpose and a little FUN.

My advise.....Straighten your crown, refill your coffee cup, and take some time today for just YOU!

Shug....💟

  4. Since I am in the retirement days of my life, all the days are good for me, but Sunday is my favorite. Sundays have become a special day of the week, they're peaceful with no expectations. Have a blessed rest of the week, Shug.

  5. You're funny! I actually like Wednesdays. Middle of the week, check where things are, what I want to finish up before the end of the weekend. It's that good middle ground day to see what I've hit and what needs hit next.

  7. Yes Shug, that's exactly what I am doing today. Its a ME day after the crazy last week.
My cup overflows..(with my second cuppa today)
Today is not only the Hump Day but it is My Hope Day.
Things will get done today but at a much slower pace and if they don't there's always tomorrow. The Lord will order my steps.
    (((hugs)))

  10. Oh my goodness, I'm the odd-ball. I love and look forward to Wednesdays. Mondays are usually doctor appointments for my dearest, Tuesday Women's Bible Study and Yeah....Wednesday I can choose to roll over, or roll out!! Quiet devotions and a lovely cuppa coffee with lots of real heavy cream and a splash of Italian sweet cream. Your posts ALWAYS bring a smile and joy. Love you sweet Shug!!

  12. I've no siblings, but your comparison to the "middle child" is great; makes me giggle. I, too, want to substitute Hump with Hope. It's almost nap time in Coosada!

  19. I love your graphics - they catch my eye and are so doggone cute. You are very talented. Each post gets better and better and I look forward to seeing what’s new in each new post.

Since my husband’s retirement back in Dec 2020 - I enjoy everyday of the week except for weekends! It’s the opposite now. Mondays are my favorite day of the week! I’m recharged and ready to conquer the upcoming days - by Wednesday I have eased into the week and by Friday I’m ready to wrap things up and take in a quiet relaxed weekend away from the hustle and bustle.
