The Arctic Air Is Here !!!! ❄❄❄
22 degrees this morning!
Waking up this morning to a crisp 22 degrees is a shock to my Southern bones. Texas friends, are you Okay? We're not built for this are we?
My coat hasn't seen the light of day in a long while!! I may finally get to wear it these next few days. I'm pretty sure the tags are still on it because I bought it on sale, after the BIG FREEZE we had in 2021.
I do know that it is officially comfort food weather and I couldn't be happier about it!! A dish of warm enchiladas and rice is calling my name. In my mind, I can already smell the flavors of Cheesy, spicy, goodness ......... drifting through the house.
As I sit here this morning, sipping on my coffee, I am reminded of how Blessed we are to have Warm, comfortable homes to live in. On days like this, the simplest comforts......Hot Coffee, cozy blankets, and the sweet hum of a heater... are all treasures. I am thankful for everyday blessings we sometimes take for granted.
Today, I am praying for each of you. I'm asking God to weave threads of encouragement and peace into your lives.

Stay warm, my friends! For those of you in Texas, let's embrace this rare TEXAS chill with laughter, good food, and hearts full of gratitude. Hoping All of you stay warm and cozy! Have an amazing, love-filled day!
Shug....❅
Oh Shug, you are such a grateful person, and I love that about you. That is our normal weather and colder here in the mountains of northern California during the winter months. It's been sunny here, but still very cold. Yes, so thankful for heaters and comfort food and hot coffee. Your enchiladas and rice sound delicious. And I truly want to thank you for praying for each one of us; that is so special and heartwarming to know my blog friend is such a sincere lady. Have a nice few days of cold, Shug, and enjoy those enchiladas!

It's so cold here too; 13 this morning and supposed to go below 0 tomorrow. And it's snowing again! It's bad enough here, but I'm sorry you are dealing with this in Texas.
ReplyDeleteIt does remind me to be thankful for simple things like heat!
You have the right attitude about cold weather!! I hope it doesn't last long. Your description of the enchiladas sounds SO good!!
ReplyDeleteOur high today is -7 F so you are warmer than we are! Stay warm! We have severe wind chill warnings until noon Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI love how you find something positive about everything! Enjoy those enchiladas and rice.
ReplyDeleteBrr Brr Brr... now that's cold where ever you are. Glad you have a "NEW" coat to stave off the Chill.
ReplyDeleteWe actually here in the Sacramento CA area got down to 35F this morning.
I too am grateful for my warm and cozy home and the blankets I can curl up in.
Umm enchiladas sound fantastic. You are making my mouth water right now.
Enjoy your Sunday

We had some monster storms move thru today and even had the central ac on as the humidity was just too much to bear; the temp is supposed to fall too 23* to 25* here in central Florida tonight. Yep, read that right. Brr...keep warm my friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteP.S. Hubby made his famous chili and it's in the crockpot, we might have already been eating on it, LOL.
we woke up to 62 with a promise of rain that did not happen. we got 22 drops, not even enough to to wet the pavement. our cold comes tomorrow but its 48 not 22.. for that i I am thankful, our cold spell has bob fussing.. but nothing like yours.. stay safe watch out for ice, PJS and coffee all day
ReplyDeleteWe will be in the deep freeze come Monday, Shug, and unfortunately, we have to get out to the store in the afternoon. Hope I can find something warmer to wear for that junket. Going to watch the inauguration, grateful for my warm house and for our new president. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI thought Texas was always hot until a few years ago when you had sime ice. Was that in Houston? A shock to me since it is so far south.
ReplyDeleteBefore you try to figure out what sime ice is... some ice is what I meant! 😄
DeleteThank you so much for your prayers and reminder to cherish the ordinary extraordinary pleasures. I enjoyed a big old bowl of spicy chicken (Hatch chili) soup for lunch, but now you've got me dreaming of enchiladas.
ReplyDeleteIt was 19 here this morning. I broke out my long wool coat that I wear once or twice a year. Felt really good! I think I'm going to put some beef, vegetable and barley soup in the crockpot tomorrow morning and make cornbread to go with it. We have to get out for a good part of the day tomorrow and that will make a good supper! Going down to 18 tonight.
ReplyDeleteI agree, let’s be thankful for our many blessings. I too am thankful for a warm home,as the temperatures are brutal outside.
ReplyDeleteYes, hurray for warmth homes and food!
ReplyDeleteWell, you went and done it - now I am craving enchiladas. My husband made his homemade pizza, and I smell it now as it bakes. Yum. Stay warm. It was 31 this morning here. But did go up to 62 in the afternoon. We'll get ours...
ReplyDeleteafter 7 years, we will have snow on Tuesday, January 19, 2025.....
