Weekend Vibes

Good Morning friends.....Lets show Monday who is the Boss! today!  lol.

We had a very good weekend.  Friday afternoon, Sam and went to Mylee's Basketball game....It was a big WIN for the girls.

Afterwards, Sam and I went to a Mexican Food Restaurant for a late lunch and early dinner.

Saturday morning came....and we did absolutely NOTHING all morning.  We did have our coffee and just Sat around watching tV.  A little later, we kept William....our newest baby G-Grandson. He was the sweetest little thing.  Did not cry one single time.

In the late afternoon, we went back to the gym to watch Mylee's second Basketball game.  Her team was playing in a weekend tournament.

After the game, we stopped at the pizza place located just around the corner from the Nursing Home where Sam's dad lives.  We ended up splitting a salad and a small vegetarian pizza.  I then dropped Sam off to visit with his dad, while I ran over to Hobby Lobby!!

I did find a few cute things, but that store was packed with shoppers.  Not the kind of shopping that I care to do.  Me and the Long check out lines do not get along.  It did not take me long to realize that I really didn't have to purchase anything.

Sunday morning.......We had TV church and I then decorated my tree... (pictures are coming later).....  I was home all afternoon and enjoyed every minute of my time.  Sam did go over to visit his dad again.

My military kiddos (granddaughter-in-law and the two kids) came over around 3:30.  They have been home for the past two months, waiting on DAD  to finish his duty.  We are still hoping he will be home by Christmas.  They really need their daddy and husband to be home by then.   Anyways, we have throughly enjoyed them being here these past few months....... Seeing them only once a year for the past 8 years has been hard but thank goodness for FaceTime!!

The great news is (and I have mentioned this before) they will be stationed much closer to us come January.

Lets see.....back to the weekend.  We took the kids to eat Sunday afternoon.  What a joy this was, and of course they had to have a few quarters to get a prize out the machine....you know.....the machine that all kids notice, just as you enter the door of the restaurant.  50 cents for a five cent toy!!

The yard guy came on Saturday,  and now my yard is presently leaf free.....all cleaned up for Thanksgiving...

My heart is full this Monday morning.  I hope you all had a very pleasing Weekend.

Shug.....

  1. What a pleasant weekend you painted for us, Shug! I've been 'fixin' to' stop by Hobby Lobby for a month now, but mingling isn't my idea of a good time. Our leaf guy (aka, Tom) may mulch our leaves -- or not. Coming from Phoenix, I'm still like the couple on the left of this picture ... thankful we no longer live in an HOA community!

  2. i need to know if there are icicles on your tree, is it posting tomorrow? this sounds like a wonderful week end. I transplanted weeds and ferns from other places in the yard to the HUMP/STUMP and shopped for food, read in my book, drew on the iPad, cooked a pot of Chili for Bob, I can't eat it, boo hoo, does that sound like a great week end? we did take Beau to the park and for a ride. that might count as a good deed done out of love.

  3. Your weekend sounds as idyllic as a Norman Rockwell painting, Shug. So happy that your family will be around for the holidays. I don't know where we would be without FaceTime when it comes to staying close to our family members. Looking forward to seeing your tree. Blessings!

  4. I loved sharing your weekend with you, my friend. We are so similar. Days at home are my favorite. I can't wait to see your tree! Our tree is up. Currently it has no decorations, but I move slower these days! Tonight I think we will do it. Have a cozy evening!

  6. You have been having lots of stress-free fun! I cannot WAIT to see what you did with your tree this year! Hobby Lobby is WILD now! I DO know those machines. And another one that is addictive to the kids is the Claw Machine.

  7. I'm not a fan of shopping when it's that busy either. Good for you for getting your tree done. I'll be waiting to see it!
I loved the cartoon and the turkey joke today. :)

  9. You have a yard guy!! I am jealous as I am the yard guy around here for four properties...but then I get free snow plowing which was done this morning after a dump of snow last night...so it is a pretty good trade! I don't like to go anyplace there is a line:)

  10. Sounds like a wonderful weekend full of family, which is the best! And I'm with you on the long lines! I am thinking of going to Hobby Lobby today, but now I'm rethinking that idea ;) Having a yard guy is one of the luxuries we have opted for. By the time we bought a decent mower and the time it takes to weed and blow everything, we opted to pay someone else instead.

  11. I am so behind and so I’m catching up. I know you said you were vegan/vegetarian but what vegetarian dish do you eat at a Mexican restaurant? I’ve had spinach enchiladas- they’re okay but I’m like my carne asada or pork Carnitas?
Your baby ggrandson sounds like a sweetie. Glad he was no trouble, but then again at that sweet age, they’re never trouble. It’s nice you can help out like that.
We don’t hardly bother with the leaves because as soon as they are raked, the next morning they’re back! It’s the price we pay for the beautiful shade during those hot days of summer.

  12. First, I love that first tree you shared. When I lived in So Cal, the purple jacaranda trees graced the town and it was a wonderful sight! How fun you got to shop at Hobby Lobby! They have so many festive things for the holidays. Sounds like Mylee is doing great this basketball season. I'm so glad that you got to see your military family. It warms my heart that Sam visits his dad so much at the nursing home. I often wonder what sites you get your delightful quotes from. Just catching up on your dear posts, Shug. I always leave here with a smile. : )
