I sure enjoyed reading all of your post last night. I was busy most of the day, but when I did sit down last evening, I grabbed my computer and read some wonderful words from each of your post.
Lol...it is Basketball season, and I do love me some good ol' basketball. Even better is watching my granddaughter play.
Mylee's game was about 45 minutes away from our home town... and it was scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday morning. I was the only one in the family that could make this game, so I got up early, got this head of hair "Wa-R-shed".....(that is what country folks say...🤣) ....and in no time I was headed out.
Now listen.....it is a good thing to ALWAYS look at your GPS when you are traveling to an unknown area. This is exactly what I did!!!
On Sunday night, I typed in my location and the destination spot of where I would be going. Shoot....I had it down. I knew exactly where to go.
Monday morning.....I find myself traveling 15 miles in the wrong direction. I am so glad that I pulled over and looked because if I had not, I would have ended up traveling another 20 miles in the wrong direction.
I got my car turned around and headed back the right direction. I made it into the gym one minute before the game started.
This was another big WIN for our team!! Woo Hoo!! Hip Hip Hooray!!
🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
I think I finally got home around 3:30 in the afternoon. Our outside temps had dropped and it was cold outside, so I came home and made a pot of homemade Chile. Yum!! so good.!
Okay....about my tree...I am still waiting on one small item to be delivered before I can post a picture.. Hopefully, it will be here by Friday.
I have another busy day this Tuesday morning, and can only hope that all of this busyness will keep me young!!
Sweet Tuesday Vibes dear Friends...
Shug.
Hooray for the win! Yes, the GPS can be a real rescuer- but we've had it lead us the wrong way too. :) Gives us something to laugh about later, right?
ReplyDeleteChili sounds good!
I'm glad that Mylee had someone who could attend the game for her.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you made it to the game on time, Shug. I know Mylee appreciates her grandmother! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWith one minute to spare ... whew! I love how y'all love one another, Shug. Our temps are promised to plummet this weekend, so homemade chile's on the List.
ReplyDeleteHello Shug, Happy Thanksgiving. :-) I love the relationship you have with Mylee.
ReplyDeleteHooray for the game win and for you checking your GPS and checking it twice. I know Mylee was so happy to see you in the crowd. this past Sept, I changed homeowners insurance and when I saw the address of the broker, I looked it up on Google maps and said aha, its right where I thought it would be. the problem is, it had been 10 years since I drove by it many times a month and I could not find it because it was so built up, I could not see their sign. I di the turnaround thing and found it
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Driving in an unfamiliar area can be kind of frightening, but you avoided it all! Your chili looks so good. Now I'm wondering what this one special item could be! A Christmas mystery!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I have to go anywhere that I'm not totally sure on the location I get the directions on google maps and let her tell me step by step how to get there. I truly don't know how I ever survived without google maps.
ReplyDeleteI'll be putting my tree up soon.
Aww ... thank you for my "sweet vibes".
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about GPS sometimes that doesn't give the right directions and I have gone in circles while it says "recalculating" ugh
Hope your last minute item arrives and we can see your tree.
Yay on the win for the basketball team and your granddaughter.
Sue
I’m so glad your team won, and that you could get there on time! ❤️
ReplyDeleteI hope the busy keeps me young too but I am having doubts!
ReplyDeleteYou’re so cute the way you express yourself -
ReplyDeleteFortunately both my husband and I still know how to read a map and I pretty much know where everything is around here. My brother-in-law gave us a Garmin GPS - hated it and never used it again. Now I just use google maps for like finding the dentist, stuff like that.
Not that we are “preppers “ but my husband is adamant about us having up to date paper maps - especially county maps! In case… I don’t know! 🤔
You’re teasing us about your tree and that thing a jig, that has to be on it before you’ll let us take a peak! My tree will go up Friday or Saturday. I’m excited, I guess. Yeah, maybe I am.
It’s always fun when your team wins!
Your chili looks delicious. Recipe??? Or is an old family recipe ?
Can’t wait to see that tree. I bet it will be fantastic.
I can't wait to see the tree!!! Wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving my friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteSo good that you made it to Mylee's game on time. That's too bad that you traveled 15 minutes in the wrong direction and had to turn back. I hate when that happens. Your chili sounds delicious and perfect on a cold day. It's sunny today, but still coooold. Oh, about the "warshed" hair. I have another blog friend from Texas, and noticed she had an accent. It was really neat to hear. I'm assuming you have a southern accent as well? You know, people have told me that I have an accent. Now, I'm from California, so I didn't think that was possible, but they said it was like a western draw haha. Maybe something laid back, who knows? Sorry I went on about this, but accents are so interesting to me. I'm looking forward to seeing your Christmas tree, Shug. It must be so pretty with your decorating flare. : )
