Veterans Day is a very meaningful day, a day set aside to honor those who have served in our nation's armed forces. I am happy that November 11th, Veterans Day allows us the opportunity to recognize the dedication and the sacrifices of our Veterans.
On this Veterans Day, my appreciation extends not only to all veterans who have served in the past, but also to those who are currently active. I am especially grateful for my grandson, who serves in the United States Space Force, AND to each member of YOUR family who has served or is now serving.
He (grandson) served 8 years in the Air Force as an "Airman" and now he serves in Space Force (The newest branch of the US Military) for which he is now a "Guardian."
My grandson's commitment to his country and his involvement in the Space Force Military makes me proud beyond words. I have personally seen the sacrifices that he and his family have made. Even at this time, he (grandson) is away from his wife and kids. We are all hoping be will be home by Christmas.
I have many friends who have served in all branches of the military and I respectfully honor them on this Veterans day.
Today is a day that reminds me of the lasting impact that the United States Military has made and will continue to make for our Country. I feel that it is my absolute duty as an American Citizen, to remember and Honor these brave men and women.
May God Bless every single veteran as well as our Military men and women today.
"The soldier's heart, the soldier's spirit, the soldiers soul, are Everything."
Shug.
How wonderful that your grandson entered the newest branch of the military. Last year we went to a concert by a military band. The last song on the program was a medley of each branch's theme, and they asked all the veterans of that branch to stand up during the playing. There were many soldiers, sailors, and airmen, but no Guardians.
ReplyDeleteI love it when places honor our Military. It took me a bit to get used to saying Guardians, however, I think the name fits this branch.
DeletePlease thank your Grandson for his service and his family too...military families don't have it easy.
ReplyDeleteI certainly will....thank you. His wife and kids are here, living with her parents until (grandson) finishes this assignment.
Deletehow interesting about the space force, I had no idea we have one. will have to look it up. we live mostly under a rock and don't get much info from trips to Walmart and publix, ha ha..
ReplyDeleteI think...that it was started in 2019. I think Trump was the one to signed the laws establishing the U.S. Space Force.
DeleteNow that’s cool about your grandson serving in the Space force. Good for him! We no longer have any active duty military members. But my husband served 20 years and my son served 6 years, one aircraft carrier (USS Theodore Roosevelt) and two very long deployments to the Persian Gulf.
ReplyDeleteI pray God’s protection of our veterans and their sacrifices.
Please thank your husband for me, for his service, and your son as well.. Those deployments can be very difficult and we often take for granted the sacrifices that are made.
DeleteDanny's oldest son is in the Air Force and we couldn't be prouder of him! Thank you to all veterans and active service members for keeping our country safe. Blessings, Shug!
ReplyDeleteBig thanks to Danny's son for his service to our Country. I know you all are so very proud of him..
DeleteI know how proud you must be of your grandson, and rightly so! He is a brave man! I have not heard of Space Force. I sure hope he can come home next month for a long time. Your flag shots are gorgeous!! It was YOU who told me about the bingo in a post you did! I had no idea there were different kinds, so thank you so much! After I read your bingo post, I went straight to Amazon. They had a lot of Fall Bingos, and I did not know I ordered your exact one! I also got a Christmas one! Now I'm going to look if there are Easter ones.
ReplyDeleteGinny...so happy you ordered the bingo. Our family always has so much fun playing bingo...they are all pretty competitive.
DeleteI am thankful for all who have served and thank you to your Grandson especially. I am going to have to look up about the Space Force. I never heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteLove your flag photo too. It says it all.
Sue
Thank you much Sue. Yes...please read up on it. Sam and I were at the base visiting grandson and family, when the Space Force launched a rocket...Very interesting.
DeleteBig thanks to your grandson for stepping up and 'walking the walk', even when it means missing his family. Only recently have I heard of the Space Force ... I think at the Memorial Day Concert in Washington DC. I agree, it's our duty to show our appreciation and be the kind of people worth (their) fighting for ... every day!
ReplyDeleteThank you so Much....He was stationed at one of The space force bases and after making Office, he changed over to Space Force. There is a whole lot going on in this new branch of our Military.
DeleteA beautiful post to honor our veterans. A great big thank you to each and every one of them for their service.
ReplyDeleteWe have so very much to be thankful in our veterans..
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute!
ReplyDeleteYou must be so proud of the kid!
Happy Veteran's Day. I would like to thank all the men in your family that went into the service for our freedom. My hubs also served. You must be so proud.
ReplyDeleteVery well said, Shug. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWe also have two grandsons in the Air Force...We miss them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your grandson! So special!
hugs
