Are these Hibiscus gorgeous or what?   The two brilliant colors caught my eye and I knew I had to have them.   After all....the prices at this particular nursery had been reduced to 50% off of everything!!

The only issue is........the blooms only last for ONE day!

This Red is absolutely Stunning!!

Strawberry Shortcake.......anyone?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
               Earlier in the week, I noticed that several lights on the dash of my car were on!   I called Sam and he told me to take it on over to the Toyota dealership, so I did.   When I got there, they told me that I would need to take it to the Lexus dealership in Dallas.
Dallas is a hundred-plus miles away from our little town, so this meant that I would definitely need to get a loaner vehicle.    After getting my car into the service department, we were told that there had been a RECALL on the exact issue, and it would be covered 100 percent!   Thank goodness!!!
I was able to get a loaner car and drive back home the 100-plus miles.
The service department called yesterday to say that my car was fixed!   So....this morning, Sam, Tucker, Trista and myself set out to Dallas again, to pick up my FIXED car.
After we get there and they bring my car around for us to get, I noticed that all of the lights were still ON and it appeared that the issue was not fixed!    After about an hour and half of waiting, my car was finally ready.
There was one other component that needed to be fixed in order for them to reset the computer system.
Since it was a little past lunch time, the four of us decided that we would get something to eat at the "Cheesecake Factory!"      I love the cheesecake factory!!  Sam and I split the Orange Chicken and Trista and Tucker had ordered burgers.
                                                 Me and Tucker
Then.....Then......Then.....the waiter brought us a dessert menu!  After all, we are at the cheesecake factory!!
Trista and I ordered Strawberry Shortcake.  Sam and Tucker ordered cheesecake.   OMGoodness....when they brought the Strawberry Cheesecake out, I couldn't believe how big the dish was.  All four of us could have eaten from one dish.    I have ordered this before in the past and it wasn't near this big!  Needless to say, there was NO WAY  we could eat it all.
This dessert was served with sugared biscuits, but I prefer pastry when eating SSC.
I'm interested to know how other people like to serve their strawberry shortcake?
1)  With Angel food Cake
2) With Pastry
3) With Pound Cake
4) With Biscuits
5) ?????
Let me know your choice...
Goodness, goodness.....it is WARM today!  Like really warm!
It's that time of the year when I always have to ask myself why I wanted to plant so many flowers and outdoor plants.  I love having the gorgeous blooms in my yard, but watering can really get boring after a while.
This is another one of those things that you need to think about, before making the choice to invest in flowers and plants.
Texas summers can be very cruel sometimes, and if you are not going to be dedicated enough to take care of the beauties in your flower beds, then you just don't need to plant them at all.
So.....       We have a round circle drive in the front of our home.   Most of the time, everyone uses the side drive to park their cars.....except for oldest daughter, Trista!  She usually parks in the shade of the circle drive.
Last year, I had two very nice, big clay pots, sitting at the end of the walk-way that comes up to our front door.   Mind you, they were not on the circle drive.........but somehow, Trista runs over one of my pots, breaking it all to pieces.
I moved the other pot, but this year, I placed a nice plastic pot out in the same place.    It was filled with Asparagus Fern and some Red Canna plants.
Just a few minutes ago, I had a phone call from none other than daughter #1...aka....Trista, and she said:
"Mom, I'm going to have to buy you a new flower pot."
 MY reply:   Did you run over it again???
 To which her answer was....YES!!
Yep....she ran over it again.   I'm trying to decide if I need to bar her from parking on the circle drive, or just not have a pot of flowers in that area...    LOL.
It's good to be able to laugh over little things like this....
Life is Good!!
Goodness, goodness.....I just realized that I haven't written a blog post since May 29th.
School is out.....grandkids and daughters are home for the Summer.
They will all be on vacation in about a week and will be traveling to Orange Beach for a week on the Beach.   Tyler, Emalee and Keelan are going to meet them there.   I know it will be a Fun-filled week for all of them.
Sam and I were suppose to go with them, but with Sam's surgery this week, we felt like it was best for us to stay home this time.
Sam had his gallbladder taken out on Monday!  Oh yes...he is definitely sore today and moving a little slow.   He has not felt well in quite some time and I know that removing his "Sick" gallbladder is going to make a huge difference in the way he feels.
                                         Flowerbed News:
I have used Seven Dust and the bugs are still eating my Potato vine.
I'm not too happy about this.   Guess I'll just keep using it and hopefully I can get rid of them.
My cactus is doing well.....Yay!!   I wanted to plant some things this year that don't require so much watering.    We have already had some HOT days here and by July and August...it will be in the 100's.
                                                ~~~~~~~

Just want to throw this in here.........  Prayer is so very important!!
We all need to have a strong prayer life each and every day.   I was so tired last night when we got in bed and even though I started praying, I soon found myself dozing off.  I remember waking up a couple of times and thinking...."I need to pray about this and I need to pray for this person," but I would fall off back to sleep.

This is just one of the reasons that I am thankful for a strong prayer life.  God knows when we are exhausted.  HE knows our heart and our intentions.   I'm so thankful that anytime of the day, I can pray!
I'm thankful that my prayer life isn't on a time schedule and if I miss it, then toooooo Bad for those that I needed to lift up in Prayer.

Same goes for spending time Praising and Worshipping the Lord.  I can do this anytime of the day or night.....I'm not limited to a particular day, time or hour.   I can sing Praises or I can spend time thanking God for who HE is!!    God is so good!

Here's to hoping you all have a blessed day.
