I didn't realize how tired I was, until I sat down to write this post.  My phone is in our bedroom, and I'm too comfortable to get up and go get the thing.   Why do I need my phone?
Because it has some photos of what I achieved today.

Just imagine with me.....In my kitchen this morning was a bushel of Pears, several bell peppers...red-green-yellow, and a huge pile of onions.  What could possibly be on my mind?

MAKING PEAR RELISH!!   Yes, my job for the day was to make as many jars of sweet pear relish as I could possibly get out of that bushel of pears.  I sure wish I wasn't so exhausted so that I could show you pictures of my beautiful jars of good eating.

It has been a (L-O-N-G) time since I've made PR and the reason being is:  It's so hard to find Pears in our area.   At the grocery store, they run about $1.49 and up, per pound.  YIKES!!

I ended up with 16 pints!  Not bad I guess.   If you've never tasted Pear Relish.....you need to put in on your bucket list to do so.   It is so good!!

Hope you all had a very successful day.....

Blessings,
shug

  2. I have never heard of it! I would love to taste it. No wonder you are so exhausted! The pumpkin in your header has such a unique pattern! Well, maybe it is a gourd instead.

  3. Hi Shug!

I'm sorry you are so, pooped, but you have a good reason to be! I would love your recipe for pear relish, I've never even heard of it. Pears are abundant in my neck of the woods, and it sounds delicious!

Hope you get some rest, sweet friend...you deserve it... :0)

  5. Hi Shug!

Pear relish . . . I have never heard of it, but it does sounds delicious! I would love to have your recipe. Pears are very bountiful in my neck of the woods, I wish I could just drive over and give you a bushel!

Canning wears a person out, and peeling pears is long, tedious task for sure. I'm glad you got a chance to sit down, but, please share the photos, I would love to see the finished product!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb
