The Bright side is: I truly think I'm on the mend!! This has been the longest lasting upper respiratory virus I think I have ever had. My goodness....2 Steroid shots....2 shots of antibiotics.....3 different bottles of antibiotics....and predisone pills. Plus....the humidifier and mucinex!
Enough about all this sickness......I'm hoping and praying that each of you have been WELL.
How many of you are making plans for a garden? I'm thinking about it!!!!!
lol....
Seriously....I want to do some raised beds and plant as many veggies as I possibly can. Tomatoes, squash, greens, peppers, eggplant, and even some herbs!
I'm really hoping to plan healthier menus for Sam and I and what could be better for you than fresh veggies?
I'm still fighting the SWEET bug....but I know that I will conquer the sweet tooth war SOMEDAY!
I actually went to a health seminar a few weeks ago and I learned sooooooo much about nutrition. I'm not planning on turning into one of those people......but I will say that I know we all are putting so much bad stuff into our diets and this needs to be corrected.
I sure have a lot of planning to do.....but determination is mine right now, so I think I can teach myself to cook healthier.
These are my thoughts for the day.....Get healthy!

Good to hear that you are on the mend.I do agree that we put too much unhealthy food in our mouths.I love my sweets, but have reduced my intake drastically and surprisingly I don't even miss it that much.Oh I still enjoy a good piece of cake or a cookie but less frequently.Baby steps,I guess.
ReplyDeleteMy you've had quite the time with your "bug", I do hope you are starting to feel better now. Eating healthier is always a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHi Shug~
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you are still sick! That bug is a hard one to get over, I had it for about 3 weeks, it's nasty!! Prays for you sweet friend.
I really want raised beds too. We put some Soil Pep on our garden a few years ago, and it ruined the soil! Truly, they must have ground railroad ties into the mulch, because it truly just destroyed the soil in my garden. We have taken out the bad soil and put in new, used really good fertilizer (manure, right from the source!), and nothing works. We even had it analysed, and we can't save it . . . ahhhhh . . .So, it will be planted into grass.
I love the big galvanized tub idea! I need something doable, or it won't get done.
I agree about the sweet tooth. We have been on a low carb, high fat diet, my husband has lost 12 pounds and I have lost . . . maybe 4. Why, why, why do men lose faster?! But, my sugar craving has been more than cut in half, something I never thought would happen! Good luck, you can do it!
Hugs,
Barb
Hello - hope you are feeling better soon! I totally agree with you - we all have far too many unhealthy habits. Good for you for learning and trying to do better! You inspire me. I love gardening, but have pretty much given up on gardening here in AZ. The summer heat kills everything. I need to try a winter garden some year. Hope you have a great week!
