Do you remember "The Wizard of Oz?"
Oh my.....I can't begin to tell you how many times my sister, brothers and I, watched this show!! The first time that we saw it in color......was like being in magic land.
Can you imagine how Dorothy must have felt as she was spinning so fast in the middle of the tornado? Spinning so swiftly, not knowing the minute she might fall.
Our lives are much like the spinning tornado......Each day, so full of busyness! Phones ringing, texting, Dr's appointments, obligations,
meetings, taking care of family......and the list goes on!! It's as if we long for a sweet LOVE AFFAIR with chaos and haste!!!
Our focus is all about.....how much more we can squeeze into a day! Until......we find ourselves in a wretched state of mind. Before we know it, exhaustion sets in and we can quickly become overwhelmed.
The first thing that I do when I set myself up for the fall is......Cry!
Cry, because I realize that I have once again overloaded my day.
But.....did you know that a simple name spoken.....the name of JESUS, calms my weary soul?
Oh Lord....forgive me for the many times that I have turned the knob to the spinning cycle in my life!! Thank you for always being there to catch me in the middle of my storms..
Call on the name of JESUS!!
My Steps of Faith....

I am right there with you girl!
ReplyDeleteI've learned...NO,continue to learn when filling my days, to look at it like a TOTE. If I fill it with the biggest thing first, the smaller things will fall into place and it all fits.
It is so much easier to carry after that.
Jesus is the biggest thing I got... I have to be taught over and over, to put HIM first. ;)
enjoyed this encouraging word today.
Yes, call to Jesus! He gives the ultimate peace. He is our Father and wants only the best for us. Your header is amazing, artful, and a bit spooky. The light is awesome. Looks like a coleus snapped at night?
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling..only on a much smaller scale. Even so I too call on Jesus! Bless you and try to slow down, I worry about you.

Amen! I'm with you, Shug. blessings and hugs ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteLove Affair with Chaos, huh???? Thank Goodness I don't live like that any longer.. One reason is that there is no family nearby. I miss them--but love this slower pace of life. Another reason is that, other than the things we WANT to do, we just don't join groups or volunteer much these days. We love our simple life. I do think it's an individual choice with each person. One of my best friends who is also retired DESIRES to stay very busy--and hates the slower pace that I live... SO--if you love it, then keep on doing what makes you happy.
