It's All About EXERCISE!

Hi  Y'all.......

When I  first saw this cute little picture, I  knew that I had to have a copy of it for my files....

When we travel to Florida on vacation, we stay at this place that is surrounded by the cutest and  most enjoyable community that I have ever seen....

Of course, everyone rides bikes!  Everyone that is, BUT me!!
I really do not have much luck on bicycles....
Many years ago, I fell off of a bike and broke my nose....a few years later, the bike that I was riding, hit a rock and I went flying through the air.   This time I broke my collar bone....

Riding bikes is a great way to get exercise, however, there are many other ways that allow us to get in shape.
It's our choice as to whether or not we really want to  stick with a plan and
try to strengthen some of those (forgotten) things they call Muscles!

If we want to get into shape, we can join a gym.  It's really way too easy these days.   Gyms are in abundance and you can find one in most cities or towns...even if the town is small....

However, there is one thing that we must understand....just being a member does not mean that in a month or two, we are guaranteed to be fit.    If we want to see results, then we must WORK!!

It is up to us to .....
1.  GO to the gym and  to exercise
2.  Eat the right kinds of foods.
3. Drink plenty of water.

In other words, we must work out, and we must use wisdom when it comes to  our eating habits, if we want to get in shape and become strong!

The same holds true in our spiritual lives.  Just because we are members of, or attend a certain church, this does not mean that we are strong in our faith.....

Our spiritual growth comes from exercising in the Word of God.   We need to read the scriptures and work out in our own minds  what the truth of God's Word,  is saying to us.
We need to build an intimate relationship with the Lord.

Just like avoiding the foods that are not good for us, we need to avoid sin in our life.

I sure hope that on our next trip to Florida, I'll somehow find the confidence to ride a bike.  I also hope that I'll be in shape enough to ride a bike.......

When it comes to God's Word and to my relationship with HIM.....I for sure, do not want to be out of shape!  I want to
be ready....and....be prepared!  I don't want to (Fall Off!)

This is going to be a Beautiful day.....
I just finished a nice hot cup of tea, while sitting outside and enjoying the sweet singing of the birds....

Hope you will find your day,  full of happiness!

  5. Good for you, Shug... Getting and staying healthy is SO important as we age... You are much younger than I am --so you will find, as you age, that you have to work even harder to stay healthy... My advice for when you are in your late 60's: WALK.... Walking is what I do --and it works for me... I wear a pedometer and try to get in as many steps as possible every single day.... It does take WORK.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Wonderful post, and I'm standing in the AMEN corner.

As to bikes, I love them and want to get one after all these years. Our only adult bike is a tandem. Not that practical since the husband travels so much.

  7. Oh, how I've missed your uplifting messages. I like your analogy of tying in exercising our bodies with exercising our walk with the Lord. So true!!
