My Dream of A Road Trip....

Today is going to be a great day!!!

I Just have to let you all know that I am getting ready to embark
upon a very difficult challenge.......Our church, or should I say, those that feel led to do so, are PREPARING  for a 21 day FAST......The
"Daniel Fast" to be exact.

I have been reading and studying about this fast and I can definitely tell you that much prayer is needed.......

I've always wanted to make a road trip around the perimeters of the mainland of the good ol' USA and this just might be the time to do so!    I  would LOVE   to get in the car and let God be my driver for the entire trip.....Isn't this the way it's suppose to be anyways?

I think it would be awesome to know that I  was being led by God while I, as the passenger spent every single moment of this trip, fasting, praying and having complete fellowship with the Lord......Not having to deal with my focus on food or drink.... or any other thing that might get in my way.   Our views would be filled with all the breathtaking wonders that God, Himself so graciously placed before us.....

I can only imagine how deep my thoughts and prayers would be and how fast the 21 day period would pass, while I escaped into
the ride of a lifetime....God as my  pilot and my life being in total harmony with Him (as it should be everyday.)  No outside world trying to steal my time, no pressures, no worries....Only me and God, on a road trip, filled with total peace!

I don't know if any of you have ever pursued this kind of fast before, but I do know that in my studies, I have learned that this is a straight forward fast that is designed to draw me closer to the Lord while I spend time in prayer for revival in this land, people and real needs...

I pray that I can be steadfast in this endeavor and that my strength will be greater than I could ever have imagined it to be....

If you know about this fast and have any recipes or suggestions in regards to feeding the body, then I would love to hear about them....

Blessings.......and, I do plan to post a picture in regards to my empty bookshelves....TODAY!

  5. The fast probably won't mean that you won't eat or drink ANYTHING... You will probably get things in liquid form---which contain lots of vitamins and minerals. Total fasting would be dangerous.. I'll be interested to know what you do get to eat/drink...

I've participated in fasts like this before --in churches, and they become tremendous religious experiences. So glad you are going to do this.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  6. I dare say that you will come out of this experience a different person. I so admire anyone who participates in a fast and feasts on the Lord and His richness. Blessings my friend and I look forward to hearing how the Lord uses this in your life.

  7. Oh, Shug, what a wonderful thing you are embarking on. I pray that God infuses you with His strength and gives you the fortitude to keep it going. Fasting is such a wonderful way to embrace the spiritual and deny the physical. I believe you can do it. Can't wait to hear how God will bless you for this!

  8. Wow.

A blog friend (No Spring Chicken) did an extended fast recently. I wonder if it's the same one?

I'm going to read more about the Daniel Fast.

I pray that you enjoy a spiritual fellowship and harvest like you have never seen.
