This was on my Face Book page last night, and I must say.....I love it!!!
You Rock....Mr. Turkey!
I have already mentioned the rush of the Holidays this week, but
OMGoodness.....I was shocked to hear Christmas music yesterday while I was shopping at
Macy's.....
"It's beginning to Look a lot like Christmas." This was the first song that I heard playing...
While trying on clothes in the dressing room, I caught myself saying, "Are you kidding me, Christmas Music?" I heard a slight chuckle in the room next to me!!
I thought it would be fun to do a little survey on the topic of Christmas Decorations/What is too soon?
Here are some of the opinions of other people......
1. It's all about Money....by: jl
2. It bugs me...it ruins the Holiday seasons....by: kr
3. I have this all figured out...We can trick the retailers into believing that Christmas is on March 25th and then they can start putting the decorations out around Dec. 1st. (when they should be put up).....by: cs
4. Lets just concentrate on the birth of Jesus and not buy gifts....This way the retailers won't have to bother putting on a show....by: tl
5. This really upsets me....the reason is because in October when I want to purchase Fall items, the isles have already been filled with Red and Green stuff....
and don't try buying Fall clothes.. who wants to buy Santa clause and reindeer clothes for FALL?....by: kk
6. I think it is great...I get to shop early....by: Gh
7. Got to shop and buy before it's all gone....this is why it doesn't bother me....by: Dm
8. Insane...that's all I've got to say about it......by: Ej
9. I think it is crazy and we as consumers should speak up about it.....by: Sk
10. I don't think they need to put out all the stuff yet.....hey, Thanksgiving hasn't even been here yet....It's like they are skipping over Thanksgiving and this day is important......by: Tucker
11. I think it is so weird....It's not even Thanksgiving......It's not right......by: son-in-law
12. Anytime after Halloween...I'm game for it then!.....by: Trista
13. My husband says it is ?#*@!?*#@!#&*?@#&* whatever that means!...by: Shug
(let me explain....those are not bad words, just his explanation of how crazy he thinks it is)
Well........Different Strokes for different folks...I suppose!!!
Have a happy Friday!!

wow! everyone has thier opinion I love christmas but we always tried to put the focus on the true meaning of christmas in our family, the commercial end of drives me crazy.I love the decorations in the Mall but not yet its just too early.
ReplyDeleteOkay I kind of agree - I Love Christmas of course - but I am thankful too!

Hi Shug, this is my second try at commenting. Blogger isn't cooperating again...this is getting old!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'll just say that I agree that Christmas is too commercialized. I heard Christmas music in WalMart this week and while I love it, I couldn't help but think that the people working there will be weary of the music by the time Christmas gets here!
Have a great weekend!
Hi Shug!
ReplyDeleteI soooo agree with you, I can't stand that they start putting Christmas things in the stores before Halloween is even over, my goodness! I just try to ignore it all until December, I figure it's all a gimmick to try to make the consumer buy more.
Like you, I love Christmas music, but I have to agree with you - Thanksgiving isn't even over yet!! I don't want to hear it until at least the day after Thanksgiving!
My goal each year is to have a Christmas centered on the Savior, and not the commercialism of Christmas.
Hugs,
Barb
I for one adore Christmas and what it stands for but really let's clean up the turkey first!!!
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya sweetie and have a wonderful weekend!!! :o)
Well, now I really want to go to Macey's!!! And it's an hour and fifteen minutes away! I do think it is good to start selling some Christmas things early, so we can get a head start on cards, gifts, etc. If nothing came out till Thanksgiving, I would be way too rushed! But no music till after Thanksgiving, and I don't decorate till after then, also.
ReplyDeleteHi Shug, I'm one who hates to see the Christmas season rushed... I don't want to decorate or do anything until after Thanksgiving....
ReplyDeleteI heard Christmas music on TV while I was in the hospital... Gag!
Hugs,
Betsy
Like the reformed Ebeneezer Scrooge, I carry Christmas in heart all year. I love decorating for Christmas. We often put our outside lights up in early November while it's still warm enough that we can move our hands. We don't turn the lights on, though, until the day after Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteAnd during last week's snow? -- I went out and bought three really cute stockings to hang on our fireplace.
It goes fast enough with out the retailers pushing it!!!
ReplyDeleteMelinda
PLEASE can we wait until after THANKSGIVING!!!

I sorta agree. I do need to start some shopping now and I love beautiful Christmas music. But, we don't decorate our home until after Christmas. Happy Saturday Shug!
