What do you think of when you hear the words POW WOW.....
I think of Indians......Indians held pow wows
Pow Wows are the Native American people’s way of meeting together, to join in dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships, and making new ones.
Our small little town of Chandler, holds their annual Pow Wow each year on the second Sat. of October....
It begins with a "Parade" that includes our High School Band, floats, old cars, Fire Trucks, drill teams, etc, etc, etc, and I can't forget to mention the horses that are always at the tail end.....
And then....all the excitement moves to the city park.....
Where guys like Josh......6'5"....365 lbs.....gets to chow down on the famous
funnel cakes and a Diet Dr. Pepper!!!!
You can buy pumpkins, mums, scarecrows and all kinds of things for your outdoor
decorations...
There are always plenty of booths for purchasing gifts..
There is playground equipment for the little ones......
The workers....I have no idea as to why my precious daughter (Shanda) turned her
head when her loving mother snapped this shot.....
Our church booth.....
Our other precious daughter...... Trista
The most awesome thing of all....
I don't even know what this was called, but I wanted to get in one of those things sooooo bad!
It looked like so much fun!! But...no adults could play!!
This was a fun filled day!!
Happy Sunday.....

ReplyDeleteI love these pics of your town's fall celebration!!! My favorite are the last two of the big water balls!!! We have something similar here this weekend, not called a Pow Wow, we call ours The Fall Foliage Festival. Your header is just gorgeous! So did you buy anything? What did you eat?
ReplyDeleteLove these sorts of things. So small town like and you really do live in a small town. Love all those mums and pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter calls those things, "Hamster Balls"! She loves to get in those things. Those mums are so beautiful. Looks like a fun time.
ReplyDeleteMy grandson played in those balls this year - must be a new thing - and yes they looked like fun.
