give up my RED!
I do not know what came over me.......I removed all the RED
from my kitchen....I even went as far as to add lime green with all the black....
I had green here and green there, and green everywhere....green plates, dishes, throw pillows, birds, picture frames, candles, throw rugs, and even a green lamp shade....
What have I done? .... as far back as I can remember, I have always decorated with RED...so why on earth did I decide to throw it out? Why did I just toss it to the wind?
I am now starting to get the Blues about this decision.....the green has got to go and I have to have my Red back....
Don't get me wrong.... I'm not one of those Feng Shui people...I don't believe that it is necessary to have touches of red in every room in order for my life to flow .
But.....Red does make me happy....
I like everything about the color Red....
Maybe, throwing out the red for a period of time and adding the green was something that I had to do in order to re-discover my love for warm colors....You just can not beat warm FALL Colors.....
I really did not know that Sam ever noticed the decorative items in our home, but this past evening, he asked me why I had taken things off of the mantel....dare I tell him that I'm getting ready to replace it all with items of color that warms my heart?
What do you think.....should I go this red???
Our home has never looked so bare....I really think the blahs and the blues of missing my red is really working on my mind....After all, Red is an emotional color!
Could it be......Feng Shui???? Nope....I'm just joking around! It's just the way I roll.....
Warm hugs to all of you.....
No Shug, feng shui has nothing to do with it. It is a matter of you good taste, and Red just happens to be your favorite color. I know all about this. It is obviously mine too! Get the red back! I did my kitchen cabinets in white a couple of years ago (as opposed to the wood color they were) but I put in lots of red accents. Beadboard backing, painted red. Red signs, red, red. I never get tired of it and I continue to paint other things red. Honey, you just go and get your red back! Tell em' I said so!

ReplyDeleteRed is so cheery but stylish too. I like red as a secondary colour rather than a main one. You have such great taste though so I dont think you can go wrong!! Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend. xx
Oh, you are making me laugh, Shug!!! Your soul seems to crave red, so just give in!!! How long have you been living green?? Did you like the greens at first? Well, it's always nice to change things around, and have new things. My whole living room is green, you would not like it! It's just the way that I roll!!! I crave greens and teals like you do reds! There must be something deep and psychological about this...
ReplyDeleteI have a great idea!!! You go RED and I'll get all of your green things for my house!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Shug you are too cute. My mother and my daughter are both drawn to red like moths to a flame. They decorate their homes in red and also wear red frequently. If we go shopping they're drawn like a magnet to the red clothes hanging on the racks. I have become smitten with it too. It is a very energizing color. Go get your red back, girl, and hurry!
ReplyDeleteI say the heck with feng shui or whatever color the decorators say is the latest style or color. Go with what you like and if red makes you happy, then bring it on! I have a red kitchen and I love it! It seems the older I get, the more color I like. Hope you still have your red things and get them out again. See ya!
ReplyDeleteOh, Shug, I took my red out will be two years in December and I haven't been satisfied yet! LOL! Like you, I had had red my whole life. I'll look forward to seeing yours back in place. blessings ~ tanna
