"Working Together"

We have Great News!!!  Baby Zoey is now home....

Just want to shout a huge "Thank You" for all your prayers....
Miss Zoey had a very stressful birth, but Praise God, she is now
doing well...

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.        Proverbs 17:22

I am thrilled to have a grandson that takes after his Shug.....I am all about being happy and having fun!

This past Monday night, Tucker's baseball team was playing their first game of the district playoffs...

The game wasn't going so well for the "BlueJays", and it looked like there was no possible way to catch up....This is when Tucker and his cousin (Joey) decided to take things into their own hands...

During a time out, these two (Tucker and Joey) made up a play that would prove to be greatly successful (??)   Joey was Pitching, and Tucker was playing "Short Stop" ....Without their coaches knowledge, the play went something like this.....

During a called time out, Joey would give Tucker the ball....Tucker would put it in his glove and walk back to the "Short Stop" position.  Joey would pretend to have the ball in his glove on the pitcher's mound....When the guy on the opposing team steps off of the bag, Tucker would touch him with the ball and he would be OUT!!

This is exactly what happened....

I can just see their faces right now...."A trick play"
I would also liked to have seen their coaches faces!

I must add......the umpires did not like the play...

Our two boys saw this particular play done in a movie, and they just thought they would give it a try themselves. (during a very important game...)

What can you expect though, when you are losing a game by a huge margin and your coaches tell you just to go out and "HAVE A GOOD TIME"

A good time?  Yes, they were having a good time!!

Needless to say, there was a huge delay in the game while the coaches and umpires referred to the rule book for the consequences of a trick play.....

"Safe"......this was the ruling for the kid on second base.

As for Tucker and Joey.......there was a lot of Laughter for the rest of the night.....I don't think they will try this play again during their game tonight....but who knows, they may have something better up their sleeves....

Kids will be kids....and I think it's wonderful that they can find laughter in a stressful world....

BTW....with plays like this, I expect them both to be getting a call from the "Texas Rangers" this next week!

Blessings my friends...

  2. Too funny. I have to admit, I love kids playing jokes! My dad was a prankster and it ran in the family. It just got some of us in trouble at times!
I'm so happy Baby Zoey is home!

Sounds like your grandson and his friend are very creative... BUT--the right call was made in the overall scheme of things.

  9. I'm praising with you for your good news, and I'm giggling with you over the cute little sneaks. They definitely understand the concept of "It's all in fun".

And I left a note below, but I'll say again that the laughter post would make a great Simple Pleasure post.
