Good morning friends!! Yay for Sunday....
a designed day for worship, rest and recharging for the week ahead.
What I love about Sunday's...
It is a day that invites us to savor life's simple pleasures. It is also a day to balance spiritual as well as personal reflections.
A day for staying home or a day for taking a stroll. For me, it most likely is a day for a taking Country drive.
"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation"
Sunday afternoon is when I prepare for the week. I always make a to-do list of all the things that I will end up ignoring!
I also consider this a day that my kitchen gets a well deserved break!
Monday will arrive soon enough, so I'm sending some positive energy your way....make today a wonderful day.
shug. 💛
I love that church. There's just something about a little white church with a steeple that touches me.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Sundays are wonderful.
Me too Mari. Brings back memories of my childhood...
DeleteI love that church, too. It actually reminds me of the one where we currently worship, Shug - simple and welcoming. Enjoy your Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI prefer a simple little church...Not big on the mega churches. just not for me. Have a wonderful Sunday
DeleteWhat a cute little church that is. I laughed at your to-do list of things you'll ignore.
ReplyDeleteTruth it is Ann. I make those list and sometimes they get done and most times they don't. lol
DeleteI hope you go on the country drive and that it is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny...Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go on the drive...It's a dreary day, so maybe next Sunday.
DeleteI hope you are well! It sounds like a good day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn...feeling much better and so thankful to have had a wonderful cardiologist. Hope your Sunday is sweet...
Deletethecontemplativecat here. Where is this church? Is it yours? It blesses me to read your post.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where this church is at. I loved the picture and thought how sweet it would be to attend a pretty little church like this.
DeleteHave a wonderful day! Your Sundays sound like most of my days, and I'm grateful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much...I am so grateful as well.
DeleteHow I love the looks of that country church! Given the surrounding severe weather, we/I got little-to-nothing accomplished today ... save my weekly "to do" list. Yep, that's a given. One of these days I'm going to take a page from Cheerful Monk and retitle it my "Possibilities List."
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty church, yes a day of relaxing here too and several naps:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little church in the wild wood - remember that hymn? Glad you are doing better. Hope you enjoyed the day.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. Our little church is similar except we have a red door and the windows are stained glass and not quite so many of them, but still, very similar. The most important thing is what goes on inside the walls of the church...Is God's Holy Spirit welcome there? Is Jesus the real reason for being there, or is it just to see people and "do our weekly duty". We love our weekly 'recharge" every Sunday, and then yes, the rest of the day is for relaxing, spending time with family, or just taking a nice nap. Thank you for this lovely post. Hope you are feeling much better!
ReplyDeleteShug, Sundays are starting to be my favorite day of the week for all the reasons you mentioned, and more. They are so peaceful. No bills, no appointments, no unnecessary phone calls. Just a day of rest, peace, prayer, and reflection. A country drive sounds like a perfect thing to do on a Sunday afternoon. : )
