Well friends....I have quickly realized that I am am not an ARTIST!
This is the photo from yesterday....
↑↑↑↑↑↑
Here ↓↓↓↓↓ is how mine turned out.
I think I could have done a better job if I had found some pointed leaves. I searched outside, but the only leaves I could find were Oak tree leaves and Elaeagnus leaves.
I should have cut a point at the end of the leaves and blended the yellow color into the orange color.
This was FUN!! Here is how I did this!!
I took the leaves and turned them over.
I then painted the back side with watercolor paints.
But....first, I drew the main body of the butterfly on the paper. (not so good 👎)
I placed the leaves (paint side down) where the wings would normally be on a butterfly.
Pressed them in and then lifted them up.
After the wings were done, I took black paint and drew around the edge of the wings on the paper. I think it might would have been better had I gone ahead and painted the black outline on the leaves.
This was so easy and I can see where the form of art would allow for all kinds of fun creations.
It would be a fun project to do with grandkids.
This was my "Try It Thursday" adventure!
We have RAIN here today!! Thankfully some of this pollen will be washed away.
We have a new weekend peeking around the corner and it's bringing some positive energy.
Grab you a cup of coffee, and lets give some good cheers to a feel-good Friday!
I like your butterfly!
ReplyDeleteIt's cute! And you had fun...
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here today too.
I’m glad you tried it. ❤️
ReplyDeleteActually I like your butterfly! 🦋
ReplyDeleteLooks fun and thanks for sharing with us.
I think your butterfly is cute. Have a wonderful weekend, Shug!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun...I love what you did with the leaf. Nature is a great inspiration for Art. I was just going through some of my old paintings and thinking I need to give them away rather than collect dust behind the chest of drawers. Thanks for showing the process for your creation. Speaking of dust....I better say goodbye and get to my Friday housse cleaning. Sending hugs. PS. I use leaves in the Fall to make patterns for pie crust leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the process of how you did the craft from yesterday! I think you did a really good job. We are always our own worst critic. I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed doing it.
ReplyDeleteperfect for kids to do and yours is good and you learned a lot and next time it will be better and better. I would never have thought to making a leaf to use as a stamp. keep playing keep having fun says the old lady who plays all the time..
ReplyDeleteYours might not look exactly like the example but I think it came out great. I bet you had a lot of fun doing it too which is the most important part. I may have to go in search of leaves and give this a try.
ReplyDeleteThat's what it's all about ... having fun and just doing it !!
ReplyDeleteI love your Style..
(((hugs)))

I love it, and think you did great for your first time. It is still very beautiful. And now that you have told us what you wish you would have done, I am ready to buy the paints!
ReplyDeleteI think it's adorable and I love how it turned out. It still gives such a Spring vibe! Yay for pollen being washed away. Plus everything grows that much greener. :) It's FREEZING rain here today. I'm so ready for true Spring to show up. Blessed weekend to you lovely Lady. xo
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like work - lol - but fun work. I think you did a great job - but I bet you could free hand draw it like Ann does.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are sending your rain over to wash some of this pollen down.
Okay send the fun over for the weekend!
Thanks for this 'behind the scenes' how-to, Shug! I still think it's adorable. You're having fun and that's what counts, right?
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun to me! I need to get some water colors and do some painting. I don't really know what I'm doing, but I'd like to try. You are inspiring me to at least try. I think your butterfly is really sweet!
ReplyDeletePractice makes perfect! Your butterflies look like butterflies!! Hope you have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job and I'm impressed that you knew the names of the leaves! hahaha :) Art is supposed to be unique and fun and you created just that! Have a great (rainy) weekend! It's been raining here since yesterday and I hear it outside already today.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun project!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think it turned out nice. What a fun art project. You know, I've never been good at drawing or painting, and I have so much appreciation for those that can draw. I love the orange and yellow colors. They look so Springy. ; )
