Back Road Blossoms

This time of year, it's the wisteria and honeysuckle that steals the show, as they weave their way along old tree stumps and spilling over through the overgrown weeds.

I know that I posted about the wisteria one day this week ALREADY, but hopefully one more post of what God has planted will be brighten your day.

This past week, I had the opportunity to travel down one of the old back roads, and I found myself in awe of the beauty from not only the wild flowers, but the wisteria and the "Major Wheeler honeysuckle" vines.

If only this was growing in my yard....

Thankfully there was no other cars on the back road which allowed me the opportunity to pull over and take some pictures.

I was struck in awe by how deep and rich the color was in this one patch of blooms, and the sweetness of the fragrance was so strong.

Isn't it beautiful how the wisteria vines are growing up the trunk of the tree?

God provides what nature needs!!
Happy Weekend Dear Friends.

  2. I much prefer what God provides in plants and trees and flowers over what man has messed with, so many hybrids, I love the non hybrid hibiscus and the can survive Florida Heat while the hybrids are the first to die.. Wisteria and honeysuckle are both favorites of mine, with the W taking the win by looks alone. glad you could stop and get these.
I also prefer trees in their own shape, not cut into boxes or circle or Minnie mouse. ha ha

  4. So, so pretty Shug. I enjoyed chatting with you via messenger this morning.. I thought of you when I heard of the floods in Texas, hoping you were not involved. Rain can be nice but floods..nope..
I am getting itchy to go down some backroads too. Using my handy dandy cel phone and hope to capture a few blog photos sometime soon.

  6. How beautiful! Our backroads are not nearly as colorful. I think if I saw these flowers on the side of the road I would definitely pull over and admire them for a while...and be very tempted to bring some home with me. 😉

  7. I'm so glad you, too, enjoy the backroads' beauty. The wisteria makes me think of a debutante's ball gown ... like something from Gone With the Wind, perhaps.

  9. thecontemplativecat here. So marvelously beautiful. Wisteria is not common out here in a desert climate, but there are some places (like zoos, resting homes) where they have managed to grow them to a large size. amazing.

  10. I was first introduced to the beautiful Wisteria from a blog friend many years ago. It's funny the things we learn in blog land, isn't it? What a nice ride you took on the back roads. Sometimes those are the best. We see so many wonderful things. The Wisteria color is stunning.

    Have a blessed weekend, Shug.

  11. OH yes, I also posted some pictures of wisteria this week and I think the previous week too. Why not enjoy it while it lasts? It just doesn't last long enough! Your photos are spectacular! I love God's gardens the best! My favorite kind, that I don't have to do a thing to make them grow and they are the most beautiful of all!! Thank you for sharing this with us. Looks like a beautiful day for a ride in the country for sure!

  16. Shug, I love, love, love wisteria and honeysuckle. I love the smell, and it reminds me of a past a long time ago. I haven't seen or noticed the wisteria winding around the trees - I see it more handing gracefully and blowing in the wind.
