Saturday News!

Shug.... here on this beautiful, rainy, Saturday morning.

Last Saturday morning, it was a bright sunshiny day with temps in the 80's.  Today, we have rain and low temps in the 30's.

This next week the weather guys are predicting the coldest weather of the season for us.  Wouldn't you know it......We uncovered the pool last weekend, we took away the covering for the pump, and we uncovered many of our plants.

Oh well..... it is easy to cover these things back up.  And....if we had left the insulation on the plants and trees, they most likely would have burned up from the high heat of 86 degrees last weekend.

             ☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔

In other news.....Sam and I ended up going out to eat last evening.  We went to a favorite place "1836" and had an EARLY dinner.  We got there at 4:30 and were able to enjoy a nice quiet dinner.  He had Quesadillas and I had Fried Green tomatoes, topped with Pimento Cheese.

I do love me some Fried Green Tomatoes.
I did not eat the pickled onions, as I do not like onions at all.  They did make for a pretty dish.

We also had the famous Crawfish Queso!

This little cast iron pan skillet is filled with the most delicious, super yummy cheese dip, and it it loaded with crawfish tails.

This place is not super fancy, but it is "THE PLACE"  for the night scene life.  Of course, we categorize ourselves as the "Early Dinner"
patrons.

I leave you all with a photo of our sweet baby boy.  This photo speaks pure LOVE.

How Beautiful it is that we are loved by the source of love itself....

Shug......💛

  1. I love that sweet baby!! You know Georgia weather is doing the same thing! No wonder people get sick - hard to know how to dress.
This is so funny Shug, we have an 1885 House and you know what I order?
    Fried Green Tomatoes!

  2. I saw that quote about the Texas weather on FB and thought of you. I guess it was "right on". We are part of the "Early Dinner Club" too. It is so much more pleasant and the Early Bird specials aren't bad either.
Love that photo of your cute little baby boy. Makes me want to give Grandma Smootches.

  5. I think we are all having extreme swings, for the first time in 40 years, we ran the heat from Nov to Feb and now a week of AC on, and this week we are going to need heat again. not as bad as yours but certainly not what we are used to. Sweet Baby Boy! so precious.. I am laughing at you and Sue being early birds to eat out. we have both of you beat at early birds, we only eat out at LUNCH, 12 pm on he dot.. we eat our main meal at home each day early and while all others are out eating we are sleeping. how is that for early

  6. What an adorable boy! Are you going to save that and include in the slide show at his wedding reception?
It sounds like Alabama weather is playing copy-cat with y'all. I just welcome the opportunity to wear my heavy sweaters and hoodies a while longer.
I can't enjoy shellfish, but the idea of a little cast-iron pan skillet is ringing my eclectic heart strings. Yes, please!

  7. That little guy is so very cute and definitely happy, Shug! Our weather is doing the same thing here and I'm NOT a big fan of the swing in temperatures. I'm glad you got to go out for a quiet Valentine's Day dinner, too. How fun! Blessings!

  8. Sounds like you had a nice evening out. I don't like to eat so early; but notice more folks my age are beginning to do that. In part cause it's cheaper, and they can get home before dark. We generally have our cocktails around 6:30 ish and dinner after that. LOVE fried Green tomatoes. We're currently in South Carolina and I've had them twice so far. Not something one gets at home in cold Ohio. Cute cute picture of the wee one. To say the weather has been crazy would be a huge understatement.

I love fried green tomatoes as well.
The weather here has been just as crazy as what that Texas sign has to say. I just don't know what to wear when I go out anymore, LOL.

  17. The little one is so precious, and I love the fact that the moms take those monthly photos now. That cheesy dish looks delicious. I'm not a fish lover, but this looks really good. I don't think I've had fried green tomatoes, sounds wonderful. Your weather sounds sporadic there, but so glad you can cover the pool and plants again. It's always such a delight to visit with you, Shug.
