"Let it Go..."

 FROZEN ❄❅❆

How many of you have seen this animated musical either on TV or on the big screen?  I must confess....I had not.  I went, completely unaware of the storyline, the music, or what emotions it might stir up.
BUT....last evening....Oh my dear heart!!

I had the sweetest opportunity to attend this musical at Mylee's school, and let me tell you...I  was more than impressed...It honestly was captivating.
Shanda, Mylee, Trista and I all enjoyed watching the show and seeing many of Shanda's students as well as Mylee's friends playing some of the main characters in this production.

This theatrical presentation was well worth the cost of my ticket. This story came together through young hearts who are very talented.
The costumes, the lighting, the music....all of it was beautiful. What truly made the night unforgettable was the passion shining through each student on that stage...The audience could feel it through every song that was sung and in every step they took.  I know that I certainly did.

I walked in not knowing a single thing about this musical ..... and walked out feeling like I had experienced something truly meaningful.
This morning I woke up singing
"Let it Go, let it go" which was the main number.. I have heard the song before, but now it has meaning for me.

This theatrical performance was a reminder for me that sometimes we hold onto things a little too tightly.
Worries, expectations, even fears.
Maybe just maybe this song is one that we need to keep close to our hearts...

"let it Go..."

I'm here this morning....waving at you all from my front porch..
Wish you were here to join me in a warm cup of coffee...or hot cocoa.
I HAVE PLENTY OF BLANKETS..

It's chilly outside this morning...

hugs,
Shug...💛

  1. How special!! I just love school plays! so for me it was The Addams Family, and for you it is Frozen. What character did Mylee play? I bet they did not allow pictures during the play. I have seen the first animated Frozen, we really enjoyed it.

    1. Hi Ginny...The Addams Family is one that I know I would enjoy too. Mylee was not in the play. We all attended as her friends and Shanda's students were performing.

  5. It's nice to see young talented singers who are full of enthusiasm and will to sing and participate in such interesting performances as this musical. I have sung in choirs since childhood and have stood on stage at concerts many times, so I know what a wonderful feeling it is when you sing in front of an audience.

  8. I love school plays too!
For me it was The King and I and My Fair Lady/Pygmalion.
I did see the animated Frozen movie, but I can imagine how special it must have been to watch it come alive on stage.
There’s just something about the energy of live performances that makes the story feel brand new again. 💙❄️

  9. I have sweet memories of watching Frozen with our oldest granddaughter when she was young and the family was living near us. I loved the story and yes, we should all learn to let it go and let God. Blessings, Shug!

  11. Shug, having my 3 oldest granddaughters with me all the time, I heard this song more than the average person :) Especially in the car as they all sang it full blast from the backseat. We had Elsa and Anna cakes, dress up clothes, books, dolls and then, as kids do...they were over it. But the song sticks with you, once you hear it. And it's a good motto for many things in life. P.S. I love your hair! You might be my inspiration :)

  12. Seeing your children and grandchildren perform in school productions is always fun. I'm glad you had such a meaningful evening.
I hope Sam is recovering well from his latest treatment. Sleep is good.

  13. Having three grandgirls, Shug, I can't tell you how many times I've seen "Frozen." One of their favorite animated movies. How delightful that you got to see the musical with the girls. The costumes are wonderful. Yes, many times we just have to "let it go," and ask God to handle it for us. : )

  14. "Let It Go," or in other words, "In acceptance there is peace." That's been (and continues) a theme for me in recent years.

  15. I've heard the song, yes ... but know absolutely nothing else about Frozen. High school little theater was such an enjoyable part of my youth; I'm so glad that's still a 'thing' in Mylee's school.
PS - Love your new header so much!

  17. Oh, that sounds like a wonderful time spent with your girls...I love school plays, and this sounds like they really put on quite the production...a musical as well! I am not really familiar with Frozen, since I don't have any little girls or young people in my life these days. I didn't know there was a musical version. Now I want to check it out! Thank you for sharing the thoughts about "Let it go". Yes, those are good words for us at any stage of life...there's always something that we really need to learn to "just let it go..." We can't hold on to everything no matter how hard we try or think we have to. Sometimes God is whispering to us, "Please trust ME, and just let it go..." Amen.

  18. Ahh! My girls were just the right age when the movie was released to enjoy it and get totally swept up in the magic. It sounds like they all put on a fantastic show!

  19. That's a great show and I bet the performances were fun to watch. My girls did theater all through school into college. There's nothing like those live shows. Fun fact, my girls actually won a national Disney singing contest years ago, singing Let It Go and were featured in a commercial during the American Music Awards. So that show/ song hold a special place in my heart!
