This has been a full week of doctor's appointments. I am so far behind on my blogging....but my heart knows you all understand.
The warm evenings that we have been having slowed my evenings down. We have been enjoying the quieter moments more than ever.
I ordered the cutest little lights from Amazon and I have placed them all around the pool.. I even added clear balls that float on the water. The soft sparkle of the lights and the sound of the water bubbling creates a "Stillness" and definitely some relaxing moments. Don't you think that nighttime always feels a tad bit softer?
Switching gears.....I wanted to share one of my favorite things.... Crème Brûlée This dessert has my heart! That crisp caramelized sugar on the top with the creamy custard underneath, and fruit on top.....WOW!!
No matter how full I am...if a restaurant has Crème Brûlée on their menu....I'm ordering it. The truth is, I had rather have (2 TWO) of this dessert as to have a meal and only one of this delicious sweet treat.
In my mind, I see a pretty good recipe for life with the three things I have talked about here.
🌸 The sweet smell of Mimosa blooms
💡The glowing lights that keep on reflecting off of the pool water
🍮The BEST dessert around...Crème Brûlée
I think God gives us these little reminders every single day....moments that whisper for us to breath deeper. This is the real secret to joy. Leaning to hold tightly to the good while it is here. To sit outside...to order the dessert..to admire what God has created....To cherish the people around us and... to enjoy the sweetest ordinary moments that we almost didn't notice at all... HOPE finds a way to show up in the smallest things. ❤️

Oh, how Heaven is showing out ... right at your footsteps! I love the new lights and clear balls. Almost as much as the looks of your splendid Creme Brulee.
ReplyDeleteMay peace surround the two of you this evening!
It looks like a touch of heaven in your backyard with the pool the lights, the flowers, just wonderful. Something very peaceful about water and lights. I'm with you on the Creme Brulee....I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not a lot of restrurants serve it. But when they do....I order it!! You are beautiful inside and out and everything you share is lovely too. Prayers for you and Sam.
ReplyDeleteYes, precious moments! Mine are different than yours, but idea of stopping and savoring is the same.
ReplyDeleteAn evening spent around that pool taking in the sounds and sights has got to be so relaxing. The mimosa is stunning. I've never had creme brulee but now I want to try it.
ReplyDeleteThe mimosa blossoms are so lovely, Shug, that they almost defy description. And I love that you've reminded us to cherish the small, peaceful moments that God gives us. Life is to be savored, just like a creme brulee! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the many smiles. Keeping you all in prayer, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI think the pool lights are a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThe mimosa is beautiful. I've never seen one in person.
And - I've never had Creme Brulee. Now I really need to try it!
Thanks for the reminder of joy in things like this. Praying for you and Sam!
Mimosa trees are stunning. There are not many of them in my area.
ReplyDeleteReal life always has to come first and especially doctors appointments. I hope they have all gone well. Your pool area looks so pretty and your Mimosa trees too! Yum to the Creme Brulee!
ReplyDeleteYou really know what is most important in life and how to cherish each moment! The pool lights are gorgeous, I noticed them right away. I have never seen a mimosa with such a deep color! I don't see your Sam update sidebar! I love creme' brulee, too.
ReplyDeleteThe ordinary moments are by far the best!
ReplyDeleteYour mimosa tree is gorgeous this year. It seems like each year on species "shows out" more than other years. This year here, the wild oak hydrangeas are gorgeous, but the more domesticated pink and blue ones are just so-so.
Yes, Hope does find a way to show up in the smallest of things in our lives.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that God has given you respites to sooth your mind and soul.
Love the lights and that beautiful mimosa tree blossoms.
May you have a wonderful weekend and oh boy ... Creme Brulee is my Most Favorist ...
Sue

Oh those Mimosa Trees are so beautiful. I've seen them in people's yards from time to time, but did not know what they were called. Your pool looks so inviting and I love your. new lights. You have so much love and such a great attitude. It's a joy to read your blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a special post that reminds me to make sure I stop to enjoy some "stillness" in my own life, my friend. xx
ReplyDeleteYou do have the answer to life. No matter how bad life is - you can try and look for something good. It doesn't have to be huge. Sometimes the very simplest thing is the best thing ever. I am glad you recognized them - a lot of people can't do that.
ReplyDeleteYour last paragraph sums it all up so very well.
ReplyDeleteI did not know that Mimosa trees have a scent. We have them around here, but none are where I can get close enough to them with my nose! (smile)
Thank you Shug, I needed this reminder today. I had a goofy few days that have tossed me off balance. Need to breath and let God do... not me. TRUST HIM!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the lights, so peaceful and pretty.
Love, Carla
Your tree is just a beauty!
ReplyDeleteThose ordinary moments are simply the best. Your mimosa tree is beautiful, Shug. The color of the blooms are a vibrant color. How fun that this tree attracts the hummers too. And creme brule. I was first introduced to it at a Christmas party restaurant. After the first bite, and I was hooked. It's an amazing dessert for sure. Those clear light-up balls in your pool are delightful. I love how Amazon brings us goodies from time to time. Have a wonderful weekend, dear Shug. Your posts are always a blessing to me.
