Just recently, this little picture showed up on a text from one of my friends...I immediately fell in love with the message...
This little scene made me smile because it feels like Thankful Thursday in picture form. It reminds me that gratitude doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as noticing what’s already in the cupboard of our lives.
There’s honey…
and honey…
and then… there’s you.
Yes, YOU—my blogging friends.
Over the years, this little corner of the world we share has become something so sweet to me. You’ve shown up in the comments, in messages, in prayers, in laughter, and sometimes even in the quiet understanding of just being there.
You are the unexpected jar of honey I didn’t even know I needed.
On days when life feels a little wobbly—like that chair under Pooh’s feet—you steady me with your kindness. On days when I’m reaching and stretching, wondering what I’ll find, you remind me that there is always something to be thankful for… even if it’s just one small, golden drop.
And sometimes, you are that drop.
So today, I’m taking a moment to open the cupboard of my heart and count what’s inside:
Sweet memories 🍯
Quiet blessings 🍯
Little joys that linger 🍯
And the gift of friendships that have grown through words on a screen but settled deep into my soul.
Shug...💛
Joining Michelle for Thankful Thursday...

I love Winnie the Pooh and this is a sweet graphic! It is good to be grateful for all things --large and small.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm grateful for you, Shug! Your sweet spirit always shines so brightly through your words. Continuing to pray for Sam, you and the right answers from these doctors. That has to be so frustrating, but God does have everything under control. May He continue to bless you!
ReplyDeleteThankful for you and the sweet comments you make on my blog! Praying for you and Sam.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is quite a lifeline for so many.
ReplyDeleteSo true!
DeleteWhat a truly sweet post, and your little Pooh pictures is perfect! Blogging is indeed a life line as Jabblog said above. I always love my blog visits, as well as when my blog friends come and visit me.
ReplyDeleteLove Pooh! This is a good reminder that we always need to be thankful, even if just for a small thing that we might otherwise take for granted. Life sure is different as my husband and I age. You come to realize that life is just too short for any kind of negativity.
ReplyDeleteSigh .. I absolutely love being a golden drop in your Honey Jar !
ReplyDeleteThe feelings of this post resonate with me too. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my ... vent away ... how frustrating to get different opinions and messages from all the doctors with no clear path , from our side of the equation things do look differently.
(((hugs)))
Sue
Awww - I love that too. You are so right, we are very blessed by our blog friends! Isn't it amazing that we get to be friends across the miles with people we would have never met - and share joys and sorrows, and pray for each other?
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for you too your friendship is special!
ReplyDeleteAwww, Shug. I remember years ago when you did not post as much, and wishing you would. Then I was so happy when you came back regularly! You are so uplifting, truthful, and informative. It is true, each specialist wants to treat you their own way. When Phil had cancer, the surgeons wanted to operate, the radiologists thought radiation was better, and the oncologists wanted chemo. But I know God has all your decisions covered because you belong to Him! We made our decisions by prayer, and God sent us three different signs. Like the blood bank getting contaminated.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Thanks for the positivity today.
ReplyDeleteHow beautifully (and artfully and sweetly) you express the good we gain from our blogging friends!! I am thankful for your input into my life, too.
ReplyDeleteYour phrase, "On days when life feels a little wobbly—like that chair under Pooh’s feet...." I like how you said that. There are "wobbly" days, to be sure. Our Lord uses our friends to get through those times. I know.
Shug, this post is precious. I am thankful for you! I appreciate you taking the time to link up. I know you have a lot on your plate with Sam. I am glad you are there to advocate for him. Prayers for both of you.
ReplyDeleteYou are such an encourager...This post just melts my heart like honey on toast. You have been such a blessing to me, and even in the times when I was not able to post, blog friends kept stopping by. I love how you share your life. Now that I have my surgery behind me and feeling like my old self, I to blog more, and comment more and you will be a special one I visit. Love and Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI've no words to describe what posts like yours mean to me! So honored to be one of your drops in the honey jar!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to hear your gentle 'gigs' resulted in both doctors responding. Still praying!
Oh, Shug, that's just sooooo Sweet...truly, honey sweetness. Thank you for this today. It's lovely to be the honey in someone's cupboard! This was such a cute picture and it made me smile too. Thank you for make us feel so loved. Have an extra sweet rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteShug- I always find your posts so inspiring and loving just like today's post. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteShug, you are all those things to me as well. xx
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just read the update on Sam. I understand your frustration. The prayers continue.
ReplyDeleteI love Pooh as well. I can tell your soul is hurting today. You want to know what is going on. Each doctor telling you one thing and no solid answer. Is Sam at a small hospital? I will continue praying. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWe are all so blessed to have blogging and one another. Love and prayers. ❤️
ReplyDeleteRight back at you, smiles. Wishing you a lovely day my friend.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute and oh so true. You worded this so well and it expresses exactly how i feel about all my blog friends as well.

What a sweet (no pun intended!) post, Shug! Totally relatable, too. Making friends has been the best part of blogging. Some of my best friends are blog friends, known them for over a decade, and some I've never met in person. Funny how that works out!
ReplyDeleteAww, Shug, this is such a beautiful and upliftng post.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for Sam--and for you as well.
