A Wrecker is what you are seeing!!
Thankfully there was no wreck...
Just a flat tire...
Why call a wrecker? Well, none of our men guys were available.
Yesterday evening, Shanda called and I could hear a small bit of panic in her voice. She was on her way home from school and just out of the blue, she took a different route home. A two lane country road.
She had a flat on her car and I am very thankful that there was a private drive that she could pull into, to get off of the road.
Her husband was out of town, and Sam isn't able to change a flat right now. What to do? Call a wrecker.
I came and picked her up and we followed the wrecker to the tire shop.
Earlier in the week.....I had a call from same daughter (Shan)...
"Mom, can you come help me?"
She had taken "Lucy" ...my grand dog to our local park for a walk.
Evidently, when she locked her car and was stuffing the poop bag in her pocket, the car fob fell out.
After the walk and she was headed to the car, she couldn't find the fob.
She went back to her car...it was locked...and there was NO fob on the ground.
I went to the park to try to help her search in the areas she had walked to see if we could find the fob.
Nope...nothing.
As we were walking back towards the car, there were 3 little boys riding their bikes on the sidewalk.
Shan asked them if they had found any keys. One little boy wanted to know if the keys were for a BMW? He and his friends had been riding around the park, pressing the fob to see if there was a car out there that it went to. lol
Sure enough, it was Shans.
Issue solved.
Thank goodness for little boys riding their bikes at the park.
Double trouble in one week...Hopefully that is it!
If you have a little extra time this morning, please say a prayer for my brother. He is scheduled for surgery this morning at 11:00. This surgery is called a (endarterectomy) (PAD)
I wanted to end this post by saying that my closed garage door sparked a moment of care that I didn't even know I needed. My neighbor (Ms Dorothy) reached out, checking to see if I was okay.
I explained that there is nothing wrong at all...I'm just simply savoring a quieter stretch of life, choosing stillness over busyness.
I told her that I feel like I'm listening more closely to my heart.
I'm grateful for neighbors who notice, who care, and who take the time to check in.....her kindness meant a lot to me.....more than she knows. 💛
Have a good one....(Day)
Shug....

This entire post is a testament to the faithfulness of our God, dear Shug...and the loving heart of a mom to be there for her daughter...and a neighbor who cares enough to check. Praying for your brother's surgery. xx
ReplyDeleteI am glad all was well with Shanda and it was just a flat tyre and well done to those boys for finding the car keys.
ReplyDeleteThinking of your brother, I hope the surgery goes well and he makes a speedy recovery!
I'm glad your daughter got her car taken care of. I was kind of confused with the words, Wrecker and fob. We call them tow trucks and clickers here haha. Yes, I just whispered a prayer for your brother's surgery, Shug. I hope all goes well and that he heals quickly and nicely. Neighbors are the best if you have good ones. They are always around to lend a helping hand, and a couple of my neighbors I can call a friend now. I love what you said to your neighbor about stillness and listening closely to your heart. Very special, indeed. Take care, Shug. And still wondering if you'll get that snow! ; )
ReplyDeleteso glad you were available to help when needed, and they were blessed you were. also big blessing for the little boys to find the fob. While Bob was in the hospital, I got out of the car in pouring rain, had laid my keys in my lap, which I NEVER do and as I slammed the locked door I realized they were on the floor. I did have my phone in my pocket and called my late friends that die a couple of mnths before, daughter and said C.C. I know you are working but I have no one else to call. She was there in 10 minutes drove me home, I came in and got the other set of keys, and back to the hospital, in under 30 minutes. saved me from a locksmith call. that is only the 2nd time in my life I locked my keys in the car. the other time it was raining.. hubby came and brought the keys, that was 25 years ago
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to help Shanda both times. That's what moms do, right? And what a sweet neighbor.
ReplyDeleteLike Sheri, I too didn’t know what a “wrecker” was. We call them tow trucks here.
ReplyDeleteGlad it all worked out for her and thankfully you were in a position to help her. These things happen. I hope your brother’s surgery is a success. God Bless.
I pray for your husband daily and especially as he faces his next treatment. God has blessed you (and your girl) this week. I call these "God hugs."
ReplyDeleteWhen troubles rain they sometimes pour! I'm glad to hear that everything was easily resolved.
