Last night was one of those evenings that had ENERGY written all over it. Trista, Sam and I ..... headed out to Mylee's basketball game. This was a BIG RIVALRY game and it was standing room only. Lots of noise and a lot of people...And the BEST part? WE WON. The final score was 61 to 36 🏀. I may have cheered a little louder than I had planned to. lol.
In other news: My heart did a Happy Dance not only yesterday with the Penguin, but it danced on Wednesday and Thursday as well. I received my "Ireland itinerary" this past week. I can hardly believe it's finally becoming real. Ireland has been sitting on my bucket list for years. I can't wait to visit this beautiful green Country.
I'm beyond excited, but as always, everything will hinge on how Sam is feeling. I'm taking things one step at a time, holding plans with open hands and a hopeful heart.
My calendar for the rest of this month is almost completely filled. Between Sam's appointments and a couple of my own, it's one of those seasons where life feels busy but meaningful. I do have one appointment that I am not thrilled about. I have a big knot that has come up in the middle of my left hand, and it definitely needs to be checked out. Nothing like your body reminding you to pay attention.
And then...because family knows exactly when to brighten your day, our family message group delivered the sweetest surprise: Two photos of the great grands. This was instant smiles and joy for both Sam and myself. These kids sure have a way of stealing our hearts all over again every single time we get a new picture. I just love them so much.
All in all, it's been a mix of cheers, travel plans, responsibilities and gratitude....what I call real life in motion.
Happy Saturday...
Shug...💚

Praying for yours and Sam's good health. I hope the Ireland trip goes through - you'll love Dublin. Don't forget to have a Guinness whilst you're there - or two! And buy a record/CD by The Dubliners.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Victor. I am so excited about this trip.. Any and All suggestions of things to do while I'm there is appreciated.
DeleteMay you continue to sense the Lord's grace in all of what life brings to you. Looking forward to the snapshots in Ireland!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mylee. And for you and Sam and your trip to Ireland. That is so awesome. I can't wait to see the photos from your trip and all that green. Get your hand checked out.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Mylee!
ReplyDeleteI like your thought of open hands and hopeful heart - and the excitement of Ireland!
I hope this trip gives you some rest and strength. You’ve been carrying so much.
ReplyDeleteYea for winning big rivalry basketball games! Your trip sounds wonderful. (And I love your new blog header).
ReplyDeleteDear Shug, I echo Barbara's comment. ♥️
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the team win !! You have one gorgeous Cheerleader there!!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so happy for you that plans are going ahead with that chance of a life time trip. Praying that it will happen and all will be well. Love the Open Hands and Heart for your life right now.
(((hugs)))
Sue
P.S. thanks for the prayers. Dave and I are feeling a lot better but still taking it easy and just doing the necessary things.
It sounds like a great game! Well done to Mylee's team!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to be visiting Ireland, I hope it all goes to plan. You have to try a pint of a Guinness. hehehe
This was a post full of happiness. Well minus the knot in your hand. Sending good thoughts your way that Sams health will stay on track and your Ireland trip goes as planned. That sounds very exciting.
ReplyDeleteIreland, how exciting!!! I have always wanted to go there, and watch all the shows about it that I can find. When? Your bump looks kind of like a harmless cyst, but of course I am not a doctor. Please let me know the diagnosis. I am still praying for Sam!
ReplyDeleteOh, it will be grand to go to Ireland!! Family is everything, so glad you have them all pretty close I think?! Yup always best to get those lumps checked out, pray its harmless! Hugs, And Happy New Year Roxy
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you! I'll keep praying for Sam and that all goes well. ❤️
ReplyDeleteDupuygen's contracture. I have it too. I think it sometimes goes with RA. I saw the hand surgeon...he has it also...nothing to worry about. I believe they will do surgery IF it interfers with movement in your hand. Keep exercising your hand...I lay mine down on a flat surface and make sure all parts of my hand touch the surface! I hope all goes well with Sam so you can take that trip to Ireland!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning the game! That sounds like it was a great time and so happy your team won! Oh, a trip to Ireland? How wonderful! I am sure you will have a marvelous time. We will look forward to hearing all about it when you go. Praying all goes well with your hand. Strange how those things pop up and come and go. We use our hands for so much and it really can be an issue when there is pain or weird bumps popping up. I enjoy reading your uplifting and happy posts. Thank you for sharing your life 's events with us! Continued prayers for Sam. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteI hope your Ireland trip goes through. I have been a couple of times. A beautiful country with lovely people.
ReplyDelete*Squealing* ... about the Ireland vacation, that is! It's not at the top of my bucket list, but I've often entertained thoughts of visiting.
ReplyDeleteI've had that very same experience with the inside of my (right) palm. By the time I got to see the specialist he diagnosed me in like 15 seconds -- Dupuytren Disease. Unless it continues to grow, there's basically nothing they can (or will) do about it. Is yours painful? Mine's not; just a nuisance to look down and when I see it, I want to play with it. Ha!
PS - Big congratulations to Mylee and her teammates on the game!
I'm sorry about the knot in your hand, Shug. I hope all is well. What a fantastic trip you will be taking to Ireland! Irish people are jolly, and it's such a neat heritage. Yaaaay, Mylee won her game! She must have been thrilled! You know, I see YOU in her sweet smile. : ) It's a blessing to not only see the grandkids but to get wonderful pictures of them. So glad you got two recent pictures of these cuties. Have a lovely peaceful Sunday, Shug.
