If I did, I can't remember the resolutions nor the goals that I set. With this being said, I'm guessing it didn't work out very well for me, OR...maybe it worked out better than I thought.
I don't have any goals set for the coming New Year, but I do have a word that keeps knocking at my door. If I feel that I need to go with a word for the year 2026, then I will try to put my ALL into searching what this word means and why this particular word was placed upon my heart.
2. When did you have the most fun this year?
This has been a rough year with my husband having health issues....However, I think my happiest part of the year in 2025 was in July when Sam and I took a trip with our two daughters and one of our granddaughters to Colorado to visit family. We flew to Denver and the five of us spent a few days in Breckenridge Colorado, enjoying the river, the mountains, the shops and all of the glorious beauty that surrounded us. We then drove South to Colorado Springs to visit my grandson and his family...we spent a few days enjoying the scenes in Colorado Springs. We went to the top of Pike's Peak via the Cog Train.... explored the town of Manitou Springs and enjoyed some wonderful meals at some of the favorite restaurants in town. Visiting "Garden of the Gods" was another highlight. We also went to the Royal Gorge and "they" meaning everyone but me, walked across the big bridge... I'm scared of heights.
Another happy time was in September, when Sam and I flew to Midland to visit two of our grandsons and their families. Midland is a pretty neat place and we throughly enjoyed our visit with all of them.
And last but not least, was my "Friend" trip to Branson with my very dear friends. We spent 4 full days in Branson and we had the very Best time. This was a fabulous get-away for all of us..
3. What's a song or song lyric you'll associate with 2025? Tell us why.
"Goodness of God" by Bethel Music. "All my life you have been Faithful."
This song is a reflection song and in looking back with gratitude, I know that I can move forward even through the difficult time..... because I am anchored in Trust.
4. Best (or a favorite) bite of something delicious you tasted this year?
Hmmmm..... I am going to have to say that I really, really enjoyed the BREAD PUDDING that Sam and I shared on our Anniversary. We had reservations at a very nice restaurant near us. This was our first time to eat at this new place and the Bread Pudding, topped with vanilla bean ice cream was AMAZING!! It completed our evening..
5. What do you want to do more of in the new year? Less of?
I would love to travel more during this coming up year of 2026, but this is not going to be possible. So...my next answer would be to take time for myself and for me to continue writing my book.
What do I want to do less of?? Worrying!! Plain and simple...I want to put all my Trust in the Lord and totally give my worries to HIM.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
My random thought.... "How clean everything looks." Right now there is nothing on the walls, and very few decorations out on the shelves and tables. I think I am enjoying this look. The clean look is sending good vibes to my soul..
A minimalist is someone who intentionally lives with only the things they truly need or love, focusing on experiences, purpose, and freedom rather than excessive possessions, aiming to remove distractions and clutter to create space for what truly matters, like relationships, health, and personal growth in my spiritual walk
Happy Last Day of 2025 Friends....
Shug..

Hi, I am in hopes to travel more too... but not sure it will happen. We had wanted to move, but door after door closed on us as we looked at property and tried to sell our current home. We took a deep breath, and decided to stay put. With that we plan to do some remodeling projects. I am excited for it.. but I might not get to travel as much as I would like. Hee Hee!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2026 my blog buddy. I continue to pray for Sam.
xx oo
Carla
My longest trip was 1 hour 15 minutes to visit my dermatologist. alone. in a car, driving. but fretted the whole time over the two boys HOME Alone... the drive was 2 miles long and 2 miles back
ReplyDeleteI love bread pudding, raised on it. white bread was cheap, 4 and 5 loaves for 1 dollar. we always had flour and sugar and canned evaporated milk, and I can still taste that bread pudding. yum.
I like bread pudding but think it's meant to be shared as it's so filling. My house is still completely decorated, but honestly I enjoy it the week between Christmas and NY so much. There's. no pressure or list waiting, and I can just enjoy the tree lights and garlands. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteYour trips all sounded delightful. It is tough to navigate health issues and travel. Sounds like you have put Christmas away? Everything is still out and about here! Maybe tomorrow I'll go minimalist. :) It is a great goal to worry less for sure. May God help you with your desire. Blessings in 2026!
ReplyDeleteColorado! That’s where I’m from although I’ve claimed Florida as home in recent years. I have been to and/or lived in all the places you described.
ReplyDeleteAs for minimalism, I kinda think that’s getting more popular after years of a lot of stuff, which (in my opinion) tends to come with country and shabby chic decor.
Less stuff is more restful (less to dust!! 😉)
I hope 2026 brings better health to your home.
I hope you tell us what your word of the year is. I don't make resolutions either. Too much pressure! I have not heard of this song, I'm going to YouTube to find it.
ReplyDeleteI, too, hope you'll let us know what word's been placed on your heart. Would you believe, I've never tasted bread pudding. It sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on travel being out of the question right now. I'm not led to pen a book of my own, but hope we're privileged to read it someday.
Still praying!
I didn't make a resolution for the current year, though I had sorta of a goal which was to exercise more and drink less wine. Both were attempted but I can't say I was successful.........so I plan to try again. Only this time I might have an actual plan of exercise. Happiest time of the year, was probably when we toured France. Nothing comes to mind about music. I found a few new recipes so perhaps a bite of one of them would be my answer. More and less are sorta a repeat...more exercise, less wine. Are you sensing a constant theme, lol Happy New Year. Hope things improve for your hubby.
ReplyDeleteUmmm, bread pudding ... something I truly love. Now I'm hungry for some.
ReplyDeleteTravel seems to be out of the question for us too. We don't have the issues you and Sam have but Dave's slowing down and can't sit comfortably for extended periods of time. 84 has a way of doing that. That's one of the reasons we didn't go with our son to Las Vegas for Christmas and to be with Granddaughter and hr hubby. Financially the purse strings are so very tight that those extras like travel aren't in the future either. I'm not saying Bah Humbug though. Life is good and I thank the Lord for every day He gives us. Coming up on 62 years of marriage at the end of January. That's a pretty good track record...
Love you and prayers are continuing for you and Sam.
Happy New Year
Sue
Nice to visit you today. .
ReplyDeleteI have that song saved in my favorites, I love it.
I don't know if I've ever had bread pudding.
Happy New Year!
I enjoyed reading your answers to the questions and made me about my own answers to the questions. Wishing you and your family good health and a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHello Shug. I enjoyed reading your answers to the Hodgepodge questions today. Replacing worrying with trust is a very worthwhile goal and it sometimes take all we have in us to remember that God is sovereign. I've been praying that He would bless you and Sam with a very special year in 2026. xx
ReplyDeleteAs I read your answers to the questions, I see you and Sam have lived your life together - to the fullest - and your memories are filled with him. I am so glad that you have done that, and you are so happy together.
ReplyDeleteI have been praying for both of you.
Happy New Year! Sandie
Happy New Year, Shug. Wishing you a year filled with love and healing for Sam.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a chance to make those visits to your family, and to go sightseeing. They will be forever memories. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a new years resolution since I was in my teens. I never kept them anyway.. Wishing you and Sam a happy new year
ReplyDeleteI like the clean look after the holidays, too!! Happy New Year, Shug! Wishing you and Sam nothing but blessings in 2026!!
ReplyDeletejust "a half" of my goal was achieved in 2025, hope, things will be better in 2026.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you and yours.....
Dear Shug, I don't make New Years resolutions because I try to be better every day. Sending you much love and warm hugs, dear friend. Happy New Year to you and Sam.
ReplyDeleteI love a good bread pudding.
ReplyDeleteI'm a minimalist but my husband is not. I did finally get him to agree to get rid of his recliner chair! So I do have some sway...I wish I could empty the house and then only bring in the things I need. That would be heaven to me.
Happy New year to your big beautiful family. Praying for a healthy year.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year. smiles
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and Sam!
ReplyDeleteShug, you've had a great year, in spite of the trials. That's very inspiring to me :) I pray that 2026 brings complete healing for Sam and peace for you. I'm so glad to call you my friend :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful on the less worrying. That sounds like an excellent one! This year I actually did make a resolution and I NEVER do that. But this year, I'm all in. Wishing you a fun and heathy new year. So glad to have found your blog. Sending healing wishes to your hubby as well. Cheers, Ivy.
