Thankful Thursday.
This Thankful Thursday, I am posting with a heart-hug of gratitude. This week's spotlight is shining bright on our home....the same house that has carried up through 25 years of life, laughter and every shade of living in between.
A quarter of a century in one house means we've painted walls more times that I can count....we've swapped floors, built a kitchen that feels like the heartbeat of family gatherings, had a pool put in, and my proudest drumroll moment.....added a BIG PANTRY....
We have changed light fixtures, door knobs, curtains (several times), replaced shrubs, planted trees and oh goodness..rearranged furniture like professional interior designers..I can thank my OCD for this.
But through every update and improvement, One thing has never changed.
The LOVE tucked inside these walls.
It's love that settles into our sofas and lingers in the hallway. It's the fingerprints on the fridge that once irritated me, but now feels like tiny time capsules. It's the echo of laughter from holidays gone by and the quiet comfort of ordinary Thursdays. It's knowing that no matter how much we renovate, repaint or re-organize, our home has always been built on something far stronger than lumber and nails.
It is built on US.
Home isn't perfect, but goodness...it's ours, and this is magic at it's finest.

Our home is an apartment, so no major renovations. It's not fancy at all, but I love it, for what it is now and for 50 years of memories. ❤️
Its so bittersweet about the changes going on in your and Sam's lives now. Prayers continuing for the issues with Sam's cancer but I am thankful you can get care in your town now. It will be a lot easier. Prayer for the new team that will be caring for him too.
I'm like you and feel like the home is where my heart is. We have lived here in this house for 18 years and do feel its our Forever Home.
Though it doesn't have the early marriage years, it does hold so many tender and wonderful memories.

I'm sure that none of the decisions that you and Sam have had to make recently have been easy ones. I'm glad that you won't have to keep making those trips to Dallas and are able to get the care that Sam needs right there in your town. Praying for you both.
I read about Sam, and I kind of agree - being close to home might even make the process more positive. You know what I mean?
And I got out of what you were saying is - the base of your home is L O V E !

Prayers for the change over to the new doctors and facility. It sounds like a good decision to me. hugs and I am loving your pieces of home decorations and your story of all those changes. we are 36 years in our house, and 4 in the first house, 40 years together, so much of that time was here. thanks for sharing your joy with us...
