December 29th

 December 29, 2025

This year of 2025 is nearing an end.  However, I am still very excited....our Military grandson and family will be here TOMORROW!!  I cannot wait to give them all big hugs!!

💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

Cooler temps have finally made their way into our area.  Late last evening, I went outside and covered up my "Fox Tail" ferns and it's a good thing that I did.  When we got up this morning it was 30 degrees and felt like 26 degrees.  I know this isn't really cold for those of you who live in snow country, but this is Winter temps around here.

Don't laugh...🤣. Somewhere underneath all of this are my Fox Tail ferns.  LOL..It was the best I could do late last evening.  At least they got covered.

On the stove, I'm cooking a large pot of homemade soup!  Vegetable Beef! Oven is heating and in just a bit I'll have a black cast Iron skillet of cornbread ready to go.

Other than cooking soup, this is a perfectly good day to do nothing.  Am I sounding lazy?  Today is just a good day for breathing in the last few quite corners of December.  I am making progress towards my New Years goals.  And... I have a certain word that just keeps knocking at my heart for the year ahead.  I don't fully understand yet, but I can feel it.

New Year's EVE.....We will go to our oldest daughters home for dinner and will just spend some time visiting with family.  New Year's day plans are whispering in the distance.....nothing big though.  My menu will include BBQ Ribs, Black eyed peas, cabbage, Cream Potatoes, and cabbage.  Dessert?  to be determined.

Wishing you all a very cozy day!!

See y'all tomorrow!!

  8. Your soup pot looks so very tempting, Shug. And the BBQ ribs ... my favorite! How do you prepare your black-eyed peas? I only buy a can for tradition stake, but most of it gets thrown away; Tom won't even taste it.
I so love your new header ... especially the "sparkler heart" of you and your fella.

  11. Winter wonderland here but I can understand how 26 feels cold where you live. That makes sense. Those bags almost looks like the witch melted and that’s what was left.

Interesting that you have a word knocking at your heart. Curious to hear more about that.

Sounds like you have a good meal planned for the last day of the year.

    Happy Eating!

    Cheers & Boogie Boogie, Ivy.

  12. I would love some of that cornbread! That brings back memories. We no longer have an oven, so memories will have to do. 😊❤️
