So....here is the rest of the story for this one adventure my friends and I were on last Saturday evening...
I left you all wondering what could have happened next. Here is a little extra information. We had two other ladies joining us on this trip... They drove their own car and then they caught up with us after we got to Branson. Martha is 84 and Donna is 85 years old.
We finally got our Hot chocolate and was walking up to catch the tram....Martha realized she had lost her ticket to get on the tram. After much searching, the ticket could not be found. She had to make her way back to the ticket office to see what could be done. Thankfully, they gave her a new ticket to ride the tram.
Woo hoo....we are all in line to get on the tram, WHEN....I realized I did not have my ticket. What? I just had it...what could have happened to it.
I head back down to the ticket office, but decided that I would first look around the fire pit, the place where we had all been standing. Sure enough, my ticket was right where I was hoping it might be. I pick it up and hurry back up to the tram line.
I'm thinking...for some reason, we are really struggling here trying to ride this tram to see the lights. What on earth was going on?
I honestly think the Devil was working hard to break us. Earlier that day, we had been singing praises to the Lord and saying how thankful we were for all of HIS goodness. 👐
We ended up having to wait another 20 minutes for the next tram to come by. Finally...we make our way onto the tram!! Woo hoo...we were as happy as a two year old stepping into a water puddle.
The lights were stunning. So many lights of all colors. The ride was so magical even though the wind was blowing so hard and it was very, very cold. No complaining though...We all had worked so hard just to get on that tram and we all were determined to make the best out of this sweet evening. The ride lasted 30 minutes!! We worked VERY HARD for a 30 minute ride. But By-Golley we were not going to be defeated.
On our way back to the hotel, we all decided that we were very thirsty.. Hmmmm, McDonalds was right there, so we pulled into the drive through. Just when we thought the night couldn't possibly throw any more curve balls, this happened........We ordered 2 diet cokes, 1 regular coke and 1 Dr. Pepper. We paid at the first window and as we proceeded to the next window, the guy at the pay window made this ugly face at us along with a gesture. I wanted to say.. "hey you creepy kid..do you have any idea who you are dealing with? 6 crazy ladies!" When we get up to the window, a girl hands us 1 diet coke, 2 regular cokes and 1 Dr. Pepper. We proceed to tell her that this was not the correct order. She WOULD NOT change the extra regular coke out for a diet coke, so we asked to speak to the manager.
This young guy with bleached blonde hair came to the window. When we requested that the drinks be changed, he said NO. That the order showed what they gave us was what we ordered. There was no use in trying to argue with him ..... he was not going to change the order.
At this point we realized that the universe wasn't just sprinkling chaos on us, it was backing up the whole dump truck. Every little thing that could go wrong seemed to raise it's hand and say "Pick me next!"
Honestly, I think we could have sold a few tickets ourselves that evening. People could have followed us around and they could have seen the BEST comedy show in town.
Today is Thankful Thursday, and I am truly thankful for this trip and for my dear friends. I can't wait for next years trip, along with all the chaos that we find ourselves getting into.
Blessings,
Shug.

Absolutely stunning and captivating.
ReplyDeleteOh my...what a night! Hopefully you enjoyed that 30 minute ride after all of the chaos and hard work you ladies went to to get there. The lights are so pretty. We have something similar a couple of hours away from us, only instead of riding a tram, you drive your car through.
ReplyDeletePretty poor service from McDonalds, but the tram ride was so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well for Sam.
What a great trip you had, in spite of the craziness. Hooray for keeping a good attitude and praising in the middle of it all.
ReplyDeleteThat was terrible service from McDonalds...
Your group definitely made some memories!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy I have not been on the computer much and could read all three days adventures at once. Great re-telling, and I will admit I laughed a couple of times. I am glad you made memories, shared laughs and had a fabulous story to bring home.
ReplyDeleteSeeing those magical lights was worth the trip, Shug, no matter how crazy things got. Y'all's misadventures had me giggling, and I'm so happy that everything turned out okay. Know that Sam and you are in my prayers. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure! Glad you finally got to see the lights-I can't say I'm surprised at the McDonald's problems. We quit trying to go there for anything. Praying for Sam and you for a successful biopsy and good results.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what an adventure indeed. I am glad you got to see the lights. And all your friends were laughing and did well during all the busy of the night.
ReplyDeleteStrange attitude from the staff .... it is just a cup of soda... Geez!
Shug ... I am sitting here with the biggest grin on my face. Man, the Enemy was working on you guys overtime. You were never broken..What an adventure, and that you are talking about same time next year !!
ReplyDeletePrecious friendships are such wonderful Glue !
Delightful post.
Praying for the your sweet Sam's lung biopsy. Praying that it is benign and that your travels are safe and peaceful.
(((hugs)))

This is unbelievable!! Everything single thing messed up! So did you have to buy another drink? Your photos are marvelous! My favorites are the first one and the stunning reflection one! And I have never seen an outdoor McDonalds Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing light show! But oh, that NON-service at Mickey D's beats all. I love how y'all refused to let these experiences dampen your joy.
ReplyDeleteLifting bold prayers right now for Monday's upcoming procedure.
The decorations/lights are amazing, and you took wonderful pictures of them. My favorites are the one with the reflections, the last one of the train, and the one of the big deer looking at the little one.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to enjoy it all without letting the frustrations get to you.
Silver Bells is going through my head. Such beautiful lights and...eeeerk. McDonald's? 😂
ReplyDeleteThe light show from the tram was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us. Sorry so many things went awry but you handled it well!
ReplyDeletePraying for Sam.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like the Golden Girls - they were so much fun weren't they? You guys were funny with those tickets.
You should write to corporate McDonalds in Elk Grove, IL. That is BAD BUSINESS!
The lights were gorgeous!
My goodness...I've never heard of such bad service before at any fast food place, but then again, I don't go to many anymore because of ...well...bad service and food, now that I think about it. LOL. Y'all are amazing to stay so cool, calm, and collected. Good thing it was a bunch of sweet Christian ladies. I can only imagine how some guys might have reacted to all of the adventures. LOL. The lights were beautiful, and I'm so glad you finally made that Tram ride!! Whew!!! Praying for your hubby. God is with you both, all the way. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you all had a wonderful time, even with the hiccups. Branson has the prettiest lights, don't they?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great light show! You made some good memories, even with a touch of craziness. What terrible service from McDonalds.
ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. Makes me want to pull the decorations out of the garage and get ready to put up a tree. We always put one up on 12/04, which is my birthday, 1951
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure! And I’ll bet the memories will be even better because of the hiccups. Praying the biopsy will go well. ❤️
ReplyDeleteDespite all that went wrong you made happy memories. Well done. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteGod bless y'all.
This sounds like so much fun even with all the issues that popped up. All of you certainly handled them well with humor rather than with frustration. Those lights are absolutely amazing and would have been worth all the effort it took to see them
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you girls and the tickets. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteLove all the Christmas. We've had our two trees up now for a little bit and I just love to sit there with a cuppa and daydream.
Wishing you a fun rest of your week.
Why does this remind me of an episode in some sitcom? hahah It's the memories that are made, that make the trip. But I would say Branson has the worst McDonalds! That boy definitely needs some customer service training.
ReplyDeleteI would complain to corporate headquarters on the mc Donald’s error. Sounds like you gals had fun despite the small problems!
