A sweet memory making day.

Let me go ahead and declare it:  Some days are meant for productivity.....and some days are meant for shopping bags, belly laughs and Absolutely Zero Guilt.

A new trinket box!

Which one do you think was closest to my Friday?  Definitely the second one.

Trista was our driver for the day!

I headed out with my daughters and one of my granddaughters (Mylee Jo) for a short shopping spree on Black Friday.  We had a mission:  Absolutely NO MISSION AT ALL.  We were mainly looking for a lot of good vibes and a whole lot of saying "I love this, but I don't really need it."

Kids books....a purchase I made

All in all, we hit 6 stores and we made a necessary stop at "Whataburger" to grab a drink of iced tea.  Hydration matters, especially when you are out there making questionable purchases and walking around like our feet had no fears about anything. Lots of talking can sure make your thirsty.

A few of my purchases: ↑↑↑ and more....↓↓↓↓

Battery operated candles and cloth napkins

A pretty table runner for my coffee table.

By 10:30 (AM) we were all so hungry. Seriously, after the the meal we had on Thursday, how could we possibly be hungry? We stopped at Villaggio del Vino...an Italian restaurant, and we shared, as an appetizer, Whipped feta cheese and crisp bread.  Oh my...it was sooo good.

The girls shared a pizza and MJ had Fettuccine Alfredo and I had a cup of tomato basil soup.  Again, the food was so good...totally Amazing.

We goofed off in every store.  We made each other laugh until our sides hurt, as we were constantly dogging one another.  This is the true beauty of shopping with my own people..We can be weird and we can push one another without ever getting our feelings hurt.  We gave Trista a hard time about her driving....(on the traffic filled roads) She's a great driver...

In the car, we had Christmas music playing and let me tell you....We did sing!!  I don't think we harmonized at all, but we did sing our hearts out.

I honestly think that the employees at Dillards (In the purse section) enjoyed us and all our humor.  (that one is too old looking for you....That one is the wrong style and color....Oh yes, that one is so stylish and the color is perfect...I think I like this one, NO wait...this one has more pockets) this is how the purse shopping went.

Hmmmm, did I buy a few things? Yes...Did I need them?  I think I did.  Just being able to say..."This is coming home with me" can sure make a gurl happy.

Just a little something for me....

We were out for five whole hours, yet somehow it flew by so fast. This is how you know you've had a good day...I love it when TIME packs its bags and leaves without asking our permission.  We shopped, We ate, We laughed and we really did encourage each other to "Get It"..."Go ahead, you need that."  We made memories that I hope sit in MJ's heart for a long, long time.

I love vacations and big events, but these simple days are so fun. They fill the soul right up.  I know one thing for sure, the images of yesterday will fill my scrapbook up and these pages will be very sparkly.

  2. Wow, you guys are experts of having FUN! I love the purse, and it is Michael Kors! And the alfredo looks so good. It is likely not something you just bought, but I love your big gold bowl! The taper candles are so pretty, I did not know you could get battery tapers. But the best thing is the memories and laughs. I am so glad you let us go with you today!

  3. I truly think that you folks in Texas know how to have bigger and better fun than anyone else, Shug. I loved seeing the photos of the girls and the humorous exchanges you had with one another. The most important thing about going shopping is that you could do it together even if you hadn't purchased a thing. Blessings!

  4. you made me remember the times I had with my Mother and her sister and my grandmother when we came here from Savannah to stay a week. we loved to go to Woolworths Dime store and eat a burger, fries, and coke at the soda fountains, or have a banana split. wander through Montgomery Wards, my aunt was a senior in high school when I was 8, and she and her girl friends would take me to a movie with them. family memories that are still in my head from more than 70 years ago

  5. How cute you look in that turkey hat! My goodness, but I'm envious of your pack of merry makers (aka Memory Makers). I hope your obvious joy was/is contagious; just what those store clerks needed!

  6. Hey! You are wearing my turkey hat!!! LOL. I have the "same hat" on in the picture my niece took of me on Thanksgiving. (Snapchat is so much fun). Looks like you girls had a great day...I can hear the laughter all the way over here in Florida! What a wonderful way to spend "Black Friday". You certainly made it bright and cheery! Thank you for sharing the laughter and fun with us. I enjoyed every minute.

  9. What fun you had on this shopping day, Shug. I love a good shopping day, and especially when we bring home a few goodies for ourselves. ; ) The red plaid runner is so festive and perfect for Christmas. I smiled at the books. I am such a lover of children's books. And the trinket box is darling. Love your daughter's green sweater! The Italian food looks delicious. Smiles all around. : )
