Thank you for your sweet prayers yesterday for Trista and me. We made it to the big city and back home with no issues. We arrived at the medical facility early, and they were able to get her right in. We Should have her liver MRI results back early next week. The reason we had to travel to Dallas for the test is because in our area they do not have this special type of machine that gives the best MRI results of the liver.
After Trista finished the MRI, we went to a "New" Mexican restaurant for lunch. I can not even remember the name of the place, but what I do know is that they serve huge portions.
Trista ordered sour cream stacked enchiladas, and I ordered shrimp enchiladas. This place serves HUGE portions which meant we brought over half of our meal home. Sam ate my leftovers for dinner last evening.
We then visited the "Kate Weiser" Chocolate store.
Kate Weiser Chocolate is a Dallas-based artisan chocolate company known for its intricate, hand-painted confections.
The work of her hand painted chocolates is so pretty and as a chocolatier she knows how to make smooth chocolates.
I am not a big chocolate lover, but I did purchase one and I will say, it was very smooth.
The pricing is a bit out of my range, but for someone who loves chocolates (like Trista) this makes for a perfect treat after having had an MRI.
On the way home, we ended up stopping at an Antique shop a little closer to home. Trista found a few items and as for me.....I made no purchase!
We both were tired by the time we made it home, but we really had a wonderful day.......
Again last evening, we received a LOT of rain. I'm anxious to see how many inches of rain we have had.
We are receiving all this rain from the short lived tropical storm "Barry." This just might mean more mushrooms!! lol
This morning, we will be waiting on a delivery of the new mattresses we purchased just before Labor Day... Yay!! a discount!! Wow, mattresses are HIGH but we really need to make this purchase. Hopefully we will have a good nights rest tonight..
Other news? I finally found a dress for our grandson's (Trey) and (Savannah's) wedding. The wedding is only 14 days away....September 20th.
Hoping you all have a very SWEET Saturday...
Shug....
Ohh pretty chocolates! Almost too pretty to eat. The enchiladas sound delicious. Wow good thing you found a dress with only 14 days before. I remember that stressing me out when my son married. I had ordered a dress and it didn’t work out so I had to scramble to buy something: it ended up, I wasn’t pleased with what I bought but I kept mumbling to myself in the dressing room, “ it’s not about me or my dress and no one will even notice.” And it all worked out! I actually like the dress now just not for my son’s wedding.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with Trista’s test and congratulations on the new mattress. We could use a new one as well. Take care.
Happy you found a dress! Those chocolates look amazing and I hope Trista's results are forthcoming with good news:)
ReplyDeleteHooray for the mattress and the dress.
ReplyDeletePraying for good results on the MRI and glad you made it there and back safely.
We had mexican food last night and I'm eating leftovers right now. :)
I'm worried about you - you aren't a big chocolate fan? Shug!!!
Those chocolates look too pretty to eat, Shug, but I'll bet they taste amazing! Glad you had a safe trip with Trista for her MRI and that you're back safe and sound. Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteNow the Dallas theme song is running through my head! Da da da , da da da da da da...
ReplyDeleteLabor Day time is the best time to buy a mattress. What kind did you get? I want to see your dress!!! Instead of a stressful day, you gave Trista a wonderful day!! Let us know the results as soon as you find out. The chocolates are way too pretty to eat! And the Mexican food looks so good! Wow, all these skyscrapers!! it looks like New York City!
ReplyDeleteyay for finding the dress and wow that is coming quickly. glad you had a good and safe Dallas visit and fun and food with it.. praying she gets good results. that is a lot of food on one plate.
ReplyDeleteWe keep thinking we will get rain, but it has been dry now for about a week. Both coasts are getting rain, but here in the central part of the state, nothing. SO happy you found a dress, and I love chocolate. I will have to look up that chocolatier. Keeping in prayer.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you came home with full stomachs and happy memories! Dallas used to be one of my most favorite places, but I'm afraid after so many years away it might feel a little overwhelming. I've never heard of those chocolates, and like you, I'm not a big fan of the sweet. Nevertheless, I'm going to check them out online.
ReplyDeletePrayers for good results on that MRI.
Praying for good results from the MRI. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeletePrayers for good results on the MRI.
ReplyDeletePraying that the results of Trista's MRI will be favorable. Glad you two had a good day out together. The food at the Mexican restaurant looks so good! xx
ReplyDeletePraying for Trista and for you all.
ReplyDeleteThose chocolates look nice.
God bless always, Shug; you and yours.
Although your trip had a serious undertone it was nice that you got to have some mother/daughter time.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at Kate Weiser Chocolate! I love chocolate - how can someone not like chocolate????? I hope Trista's test comes out just fine. The food at the Mexican Restaurant looked good. Glad you found your dresses. Mackenzie is due on the 20th.
ReplyDeleteYou had a very busy day, but a good one to tick off the calendar.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and Trista had a good day. Hope her test comes back with good results. Those chocolates are pretty.
ReplyDeleteI need a new mattres but the prices have kept me from buying one.
Shug, I'm glad you had a safe trip and got to eat Mexican food AND chocolate! Have you ever eaten at El Mercado's in Tyler? It's our absolute favorite! We've driven 3 hours there and back, just to have lunch there :) I love chocolate, but those are more like a work of art. We got a lot of rain yesterday evening too. Have a wonderful Sunday :)
ReplyDeleteGood news all around! A nice meal, good trip, and home again.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear Trista’s MRI went smoothly, and I’ll be keeping her results in my prayers. I also appreciate the way you take joy in the simple blessings, delicious food, beautiful chocolate, antiques, and family celebrations. It’s a lovely reminder that God places moments of delight and care even amid busy or challenging times. Wishing you peaceful nights on those new mattresses and much joy at Trey and Savannah’s wedding. I would be happy if you took a moment to read my latest posts as well.
ReplyDeleteThose chocolates are almost too pretty to eat. How artistic they are, and I am a BIG chocolate lover. So glad your day went smoothly, and I do hope everything turns out well for Trista. It's fun to get a nice treat after a long hard day, and going antiquing is the perfect thing to do. The Mexican food looks delicious too. Nel made my mom's enchiladas, and one morning for breakfast she placed a fried egg on top. Your picture reminded me of that. So nice that Sam got to eat the Yummy leftovers. I am so glad you are having so much rain! Shug, I love that VW van and your orange daisy side bars today. It looks so 60's, and being a 60's girl, it made my heart smile. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a lovey Sunday, Shug, and good week ahead.

I'm so glad & grateful to God that you & Trista's trip went well, Shug. Prayers will continue for good results from her MRI. It sounds like you made the rest of your day, after the MRI, a little treat for Trista being "a good girl" for her test. *smile* Love, Andrea xoxo
