My heart is Heavy!
Texas is hurting badly. The recent floods have brought devastation beyond words. Homes are gone! Campgrounds are under water. Families are grieving. And many are still clinging to hope as they pray for loved ones who are missing.
Please Pray:
Pray for the families who are waking up to emptiness.
Pray for Camp Mystic and all the camps along the river. These are places that are usually filled with laughter and the building of friendships that last a lifetime. Now, these same places are filled with uncertainty, loss, rescue efforts and heartbreaking silence.
Pray for the first responders, working tirelessly to find those still unaccounted for.
Pray for those who have loss loved ones.
My own heart aches even more knowing that Mylee was just there....just last weekend, floating that very river (the Guadalupe) with friends, tubing and making memories. That could have been any of us. It's a sobering reminder of how quickly life can shift.
There are no easy words in times like these. A huge flood that has created a flood of emotions and a huge call to lift Texas up in prayer.
I know you all believe in the power of prayer, so I ask you to please pause for a moment and whisper a prayer for the missing, the mourning, and the many who have lost everything. I pray that comfort will find them and that hope will hold them.
Holding these families close in my heart right now.

Praying hard, Shug, for all the precious folks who are dealing with this. My heart is breaking, especially for the parents whose children can not be found or who have been confirmed as passed away. ReplyDeleteIt's so tragic and I can't imagine how it hits you with Mylee just being there. We are praying.
ReplyDeleteI have been following this closely. Eleven girls and one counselor are still missing. And none of them were allowed cell phones. But it likely happened so quickly that phones would have been useless anyway. How close is this to you, Shug? And it is a Christian camp, too! Only God know why this happened. His ways are mysterious and way beyond our understanding for sure. I cannot even imagine what the families are going through.

ReplyDeleteI have been praying since the moment I first heard about it. My heart breaks for those families who are grieving, and some are still hoping against hope that their child will be found, but their hopes are beginning to fade with each passing hour. My heart is truly broken for them.
