Well friends....Mother's Day came and went, and let me tell you, I'm still riding the wave of love from all of my sweet kiddos....and my husband.
My Mother's Day card from the family.....My girls absolutely outdid themselves this year. A gift card for a few facials.....most likely cause they know this momma's face is tired. They also gave me a beautiful journal book (I LOVE journal books) which has already whispered "Write something inspiring in me."
My Journal Book and Gift Card
And...they gave me some flowers....OK...maybe the flowers were left over from the wedding, but they are still so very pretty!
Gorgeous Box that all my goodies came in......
Sam started my Mother's Day off just right, by taking me to breakfast!
We went to my favorite breakfast place.....(which is actually a Mexican Restaurant)
And this my friends is the Senior Breakfast omelet meal. A lot of food!!
I always enjoy a slow morning with breakfast. Coffee, Cheese Omelet, Hash-browns and toast, Just can't beat it!
After our sweet breakfast, I was home....just where I wanted to be! A few of the grandkids dropped in for some hugs and a quick visit before heading back home. They had come home for the wedding over the weekend, and needed to head back, to get ready for Monday work.
My heart was sure full having them all here.
Mother's day might be over, but the joy sure lingers. It was a simple, beautiful day filled with exactly what I needed. Lots of love and a little pampering!
I forgot to mention that it was later in the afternoon, that Trista and Shanda, plus my son-in-laws and Mylee Jo dropped by. They brought my gift, but they also brought left over Groom's Cake for us to share.
My goodness...this cake was AWESOME!
One of my favorite bakeries made the Groom's cake and it was chocolate with chocolate icing....piped in a "cream" colored icing and it had a big "B" on the top layer.....for their last name.
I am not a fan of chocolate, but I will say this cake was delicious. Definitely got my feel of chocolate for the rest of the year.
Wedding pictures and cake photos to come later.
"A mother's love doesn't end when the day does. It stretches into leftovers, late-night texts, and every wrinkle that says, 'I showed up." unknown.
My hope is that you all enjoyed a very nice Mother's Day...
Shug...🌼

ReplyDeleteThat box is so pretty. Love the design on it, and I love decorative boxes. There's so many things we can do with them. And a journal is a special gift. Your senior breakfast looks great! Mexican restaurants always deliver. I didn't know you weren't that into chocolate. Oh my, it's number one on my list, with coffee being right up there haha. The groom's cake sounds Yummy. I'm so glad to hear you had a sweet Mother's Day, Shug. Have a blessed May week. And I forgot to mention that I really like your Header with the bird and flowers. It looks perfect for May.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Mother's day you had. What a pretty box they put everything in. I just love going out for breakfast. I don't often get to do it though. When my husband was still alive we used to frequently go on a Saturday morning before heading out for the weekly shopping.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the day flowed exactly as you wanted it to.
ReplyDeleteHi Shug! You got a floral bouquet Mother's Day card, too! And all your gifties sounded great. Like you, my special day was very blessed and filled with kindness and love. My heart is filled and I am so grateful. You deserved the pampering, too!
