I want you all to know that I love to "Sprinkle" in a little sass and a whole lot of love into my post each day. I like to add just enough Southern charm to keep things interesting. Whether you're a long time blogging friend or have recently wandered in like a tumbleweed on a windy day, I always welcome you! I like to pretend that I'm sitting on the porch, enjoying a full conversation with each of you. I sometimes like to think that I'm offering up some good warm homemade biscuits with a little strawberry jam, and some Ice cold Southern sweet tea.
I absolutely LOVE blogging.... Blogging truly is a beautiful thing for me.
One of the things that I love, is that We pour our hearts into our words as we weave life stories. Some of the post make us all laugh, some really make us think and sometimes we even cry. We connect through typed sentences, sharing pieces of our lives one post at a time.
I love how we get to celebrate victories and exchange thoughtful comments that really feel like beautiful conversations. Yet, for all the words we read and the friendships we build, there is one thing missing.....we don't hear each other's voices. Sure...I've tried to imagine the rhythm and tone in each of your voices, but the real sound remains a mystery. It's funny isn't it?
Hope you enjoy this video of me speaking...... Do I sound like you might have imagined? I would love to have your feed back as to whether or not you think I sound Country or if you think I have an Texas accent. .....OR..... do I just sound NORMAL. LOL 😎. Perhaps sounding Normal isn't possible...
Happy Sunday!
Shug
Ohhhhhhhhhh what a lovely voice. You def. sound southern. smiles. Wishing you a lovely day my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh Shug. That was SO much fun. I LOVED hearing your voice. Oh, yes, you have a lovely Southern accent. So adorable. May your Sunday be truly blessed. Like you, I love blogging, too, and so appreciate your being a faithful blog peeps! Love hearing from you and knowing you stopped by to visit Writing Straight from the Heart. Love your blog, too. Thanks for being you, sweet Shug. Hugs. Susan
ReplyDeleteYou know I have to be honest - I didn't think about what you sounded like. If I had - your voice sounds exactly like I would picture it. You are a southern - gentle - soft spoken woman. I love it. I love that you love blogging, and I can tell!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise!!! I have often wondered what my blog friends sound like. I used to be a page operator and call director at Children's Hospital, so I can recognize voices sometimes before I even recognize the person! Your voice is so soft and beautiful. And it has just a little bit of a southern accent, enough to make it warmly welcoming. this was such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteShug, Yes, you DO have a Southern accent! At least to this California gal. I'm so glad you did this, cause you're right, we read our friends' posts, but we never know what their voices really sound like. It was a bit different than I thought. I have been wanting to do this as well, and I'll try to soon. Your words about blogging are so special. And your voice, by the way, is very nice, genuine, sincere, and just wonderful.

Yes you sound Southern but only mid way southern...like Tennessee. I thought you sounded just like the Mom (Michelle) on 19 kids and counting. Good to hear your voice!
ReplyDeleteOh Shug, I love that sweet Southern accent. Its exactly how I imagined it to be.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you that I LOVE Blogging. I love it because of all the friends I have made through the years and the few I have actually met in person. Life long "Sisters". I do put things on my blog that I would never publish on social media.
You have to know that "you have got a Friend in me".
Shug, thank you for my card. I picked up my mail coming home from church today. AND there it was. Love it and your kindness.
Sure wish we lived closer...way closer..it would be so much fun to sip some Sweet Tea with you.
(((hugs)))

Awwww, thank you! You sound like 'home.'
ReplyDeleteBlogging's probably the best gift I've given myself; family members I never realized I needed. Thank you for being you!
I love hearing your voice! And I love blogging too.
ReplyDeleteHi Shug! I loved this! Yes, you do have a Southern accent and it's so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI think I talk normal, but my daughter-in-law in KY says I have a Michigan accent! So I guess we all have our thing.
I love blogging too. I've met so many wonderful people from all over through blogging, including you!
So good to hear you today :) Aside from not hearing a persons voice there are some bloggers who have never shared pictures of themselves. I have to imagine what they must look like. When I was working there were several customers who came in the store that would remind me of blogger friends.
ReplyDeleteYou have a sweet, slightly Southern accent. Love it! I was born and raised in TN and have lived in TX, CO, and now OR. Everyone comments on my southern accent; however, when I return to TN, they think I've lost it all. Oh, well, it's part of who we are. Along with biscuits and gravy, the best cornbread ever (NO sugar), and sweet tea. Blessings to you and your family . . .
ReplyDeleteHaha! Girl, your Southern or Texas accent is adorable! It reminds me of some friends in Lake Jackson. It's amusing how you think you don’t have one. You definitely have a thick accent. Your voice is really lovely—I could listen to you read stories for hours. It’s just so sweet!
ReplyDeleteOk! How fun is this!!!! You sound exactly how I imagined you would!!! Your accent is fitting for you! I love it! Thank you for sharing! And I am so thankful we crossed paths here in this beautiful world of blogging. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteyour voice is YOU and you come through in your written words too. its sounds just like you write, bright and bubbly and kind and good and HAPPY.. I do hear the southern, because my ears are tuned for that, I grew up in Savannah and 5 years in KY from age 10 to 15 and have a mix of GA/KY but living with a Yankee for 40 years, its toned down. if I talked with my cousin or SIL on the phone for an hour mine gets stronger. I to love blogging
ReplyDeleteFrom one Texan to another...you definitely sound Texan! I love your voice :) It's like hearing from a dear friend. I'm so thankful for blogging too! If not, I wouldn't be listening to your sweet message.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful voice :-)
