It is Sunday.....and I have officially entered "sippin' coffee, praising Jesus, and dodgin' responsibilities" mode.
I have a thankful heart and zero plans of doing NO WORK today!!
Tom and Shanda visited the Tulip Gardens in Arkansas yesterday...She sent us these gorgeous photos. Absolutely gorgeous!!
We had a gorgeous day around here yesterday as well.. My flower beds are all cleaned out, shrubs are cut back and all the pots around the pool are ready for new flowers. It's like having "Spring Cleaning" outside. Now to decide what kind of flowers to plant.
I've already decided that I am not going to plant as many as I did last year. I spent way too much time watering pot plants.
The above photo is just one small section of plants that I had on one end of the pool.
Having pots of Hibiscus in the back yard really makes it look tropical...but way too much watering.
NOPE....not doing this again. lol.
This afternoon, I plan on relaxing like it's my full time job!!

It's Sunday, so dodging all responsibilities is totally legit!! I can't wait to find out what plants you chose. How many different kinds will you buy?

Those tulips are absolutely gorgeous, Shug! I'm glad you're not planning to plant an overabundance of flowers that need lots of watering - that can be a draining chore in the summer with its heat. Have a blessed Sunday!
Tulips are my FAVORITE flowers. They were so pretty. Glad you are staying low today and resting. Good to limit the flowers and the work too!
HaHa...relaxing is my full time job today too. Dave was saying on the way home from church today..I should really mow the lawn but I just don't feel like it. To which I said, well don't do it. Today is the Day of Rest and that grass isn't going anywhere. Tomorrow is soon enough! So that's what we are doing..relaxing in the first warm sunshine day.. Going to be 72F and tomorrow 77F yay for the sunshine and Praises all around.

It's wonderful to embrace the day with gratitude and take some time to relax, especially after a busy week. The tulip garden photos sound stunning, and it’s always a treat when the outside world inspires us like that.
Hurray for Marcus Aurelius and Stoicism! He was one of my favorite authors when I was in high school. Viktor Frankl with his Man's Search for Meaning and Tragic Optimism was another big influence.
Tulips and Alamanda are my all-time favorites, but I really prefer someone else care for them. Anyone?

Beautiful tulips, so nice to see after a rough winter. I always have Sunday a rest day, by then I'm always exhausted from a busy week of going to restaurants.
A tulip garden would be a fabulous place to visit.
Good for you getting all that outside work done. I always tend to procrastinate. I also don't do potted plants because I forget to water them and they end up looking like spooky Halloween decorations.

Have you ever tried that stuff that keeps the moisture in the pots longer? I forget what it's called.
Sundays are so peaceful and restful, aren't they? It is starting to be my favorite day. Wow, so many beautiful flowers at the Tulip Gardens. I bet it feels so good to have some Spring cleaning done outside. That Hibiscus is so lovely. I didn't realize they require that much water. What a wonderful Sunday post, Shug. Love every bit of it. : )
