Sunflowers are flowers that can brighten ANY day!!

They bring such a sunny attitude and they make me think Positive thoughts!!!

I guess you could say that they truly spread "Seeds" of happiness!!  Sunflower seeds are so good and they are actually good for you.

Nothing like having a bag of sunflower seeds while you are sitting outside at a baseball game.  It might not be very "Lady Like"  eating them ...

But...it sure is fun and super tasty!

The Pecan Nursery has, like a cover crop in the Summer (on the Hill Yard) of Sunflowers and I keep saying I'm going to get smack dab in the middle of them and have a picture made.  Just haven't done it yet!!

I attended a funeral a few months ago for a sweet, precious young lady.  She loved sunflowers, and if a funeral can be gorgeous, hers certainly was.  So many Bright Sunflowers and that is exactly how she would have wanted it.

Did you know that Sunflowers are native to America?
In my reading about them, I found out that the Sunflower's botanical name is Helianthus annuus.....which is Greek; "Helios" means sun and "anthos" means flower.

I also learned that sunflowers track the Sun.  They are heliotropic......meaning they make optimum use of light by moving with the sun.

There, you have it.  A gorgeous flower that is very smart.

Hope you all have a sunny Day.

Sam and I celebrated our 50 year wedding Anniversary this past weekend.  How did all of these years go by so quickly?  We have actually been together for 50 + 4 1/2 years.  Started dating our Freshman year in High School.      We married on June 16th, 1972.

It was actually ME that asked him to be my boyfriend!!

A few days later....Wednesday, March 13th 1968, he asked me to "Go Steady."  They don't call it "going steady"

now days!

We have been together ever since then.  Guess this means that we are pretty crazy about each other!

Our two daughters and their families hosted a dinner for us last Wednesday evening.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Sam and I loved everything about that evening.  They really out did themselves from the restaurant, to the ambiance of the room, the flowers, the delicious meal and the gorgeous cake!  Of course, they surprised us with a card and a Gift of a trip to be taken this Fall.

I can truly tell you that I am a very Blessed lady.  Sam is and always has been a gentleman.  He still opens the car door for me or any door that I go through.  He is a man with great integrity and always puts my interest ahead of his own.  He is a true family man that loves his family.......and ME.  He is a wonderful provider and takes good care of us.  Most of all.....He is a man of God!

He sets the standards high and he is serious in being a good role model for his grandchildren.

We have built a beautiful life together and I look forward to spending the rest of my days with this man.

One of my favorite songs is: "When I said I do" by: Clint Black.

"When I said I do, I meant that I will  'till the end of all time....Be Faithful and True, devoted to you

That's what I had in mind, when I said I do.

Truer than True you know I'll always be there for you,

That's what I had in mind when I said I do!"

Hugs to you all:
