The Aliens are here again! Alien trees that is...........
You just do not see that many Palm Trees here in East Texas.
They are not native to our part of the country.
These trees were transplanted here from a part of the country where they were probably field grown and the area was compatible to their growing needs.
In the picture above, these palms are a part of the landscape at a shopping center in the middle of town. They have to be nurtured and taken care of during the winter months.
Texas weather is so unpredictable and on any given day during the winter months, it can be in the upper 70's and quickly drop into the 30's with just a change in the wind direction.....
I have seen these trees wrapped in their famous silver attire, unwrapped and wrapped again, all within a 10 day period of time. Needless to say, they are carefully nurtured!

Isn't it wonderful, how God nurtures us in such a loving way.
When we find ourselves carrying a heavy load and feeling so burdened, God wraps us in His loving arms and gives us strength to rise up and soar with wings as eagles.
I can lean against my Heavenly Father and feel relaxed in knowing the He will care for me, protect me and cover me with His hands.....
Make everyday the BEST....

I love this!'Transplanting' anything - and also people - especially old people - is not easy on them! They are then not in their familiar element and truly struggle to adjust to the new surroundings. It's wonderful to be reminded that we are sheltered and nurtured by the Hand of God - even through the love and care of others. It's been a huge part of my job - and calling - to nurture others during trying times. Now I'm (we're) in a position to need that nurturing and the Lord provides!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen trees wrapped like this before! Love your analogy of God wrapping us in His loving arms the same way. I am constantly having to remind myself of this! Hope your day is blessed, sweet Shug!
ReplyDeleteThose trees look like most of us in Manitoba these days, wrapped up in as much clothing as we can get on our bodies. I praise God that I man also wrapped up in His love.
ReplyDeleteWow Shug, They are really taking good care of those Palms. Hope they can keep them alive... Looks like a lot of work and probably money to have those 'aliens' at the shopping center....
ReplyDeleteYES---God's nurturing helps us all, doesn't it???? Thanks be to God.
Hugs,
Betsy
Wow Shug; I think I'd just plant something native to the area! That's why I am a lazy gardener :D

Hi shug!
ReplyDeleteThose trees made me giggle, they really do look like something from outer-space! I loved the analogy of being wrapped in God's arms - I needed that today . . . thanks for the giggle too ... :0)
Hugs,
Barb
Well, they look strange but it's great they're being cared for. Yes, it's wonderful how God nurtures us. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGoood thing you gave these pictures a description cause they sure were confusing me.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.

My word, I have never seen anything like this!!!! I wonder if they could have found something just as pretty that didn't require all the work?
ReplyDeleteI know where you were today!
ReplyDeleteYes, doncha just love feeling all warm inside when you know the Lord is holding you in His arms! Love your analogy, Shug!

That's so cool! I love how they are wearing winter coats, and I really, really love the way you saw a truth about God in it.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love this familiar sight!! You know it's winter in Tyler by the Barnes and Noble trees! ;) I wonder if they have ever regretted their landscaping choice? I really enjoy them summer and winter! blessings ~ tanna
