Shanda
Good Morning....Hope all my friends on the East Coast are safe and that you had NO damages caused by the earthquake!
(SEW)...I think I'll just enjoy this day to the fullest!!
Sewing...this is one thing that I am not very talented at...I would love to be able to sew, but I think it requires a special kind of patience that I just don't have....
I do know some of the basics of sewing, but that is about it...
This past weekend, Shanda stopped by and needed to use my sewing basket...A button had popped off of a pair of shorts, so she wanted to sew it on...She wanted to learn to sew a button on....
This is one thing that I do know how to do... (Sew), I got the needle and thread out, and then started teaching her sewing 101.
Sure made me feel good...the fact that I taught my daughter how to sew a button on a pair of shorts!
It took me FOREVER to thread the needle...(man, those little eyes on the needles are a whole lot smaller than what I remember them being)
I was very proud of her...For one, she took the initiative to do this on her own, without taking the shorts to an alterations shop...AND...she did a A+ job at sewing the button on...
Good Job Shan!
Have a wonderful day....I know I plan to...

Hope you have a good day and that everyone in the family pampers you today.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your day is special.I used to sew all my clothes, but have given up on that.Too many other interesting things to do,such as blogging and photography.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope this day is full of wonderful things and the year ahead is blessed with peace, love, and many wonderful memories!

Hi Shug!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you - (((hugs)))! I hope your day is perfect!
It's so good to know that there are others out there who don't sew! I try, really I do, but I think I should just leave it to the pros... :0)
Hugs,
Barb
I am just like you when it comes to sewing and patience! I can sew on a button, hem something, and fix a smile seam tear, but that's about it. Isn't it such fun when we can teach our all grown up kids a thing or two?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Shug!! And many, many more.
ReplyDeleteSewing??? Not one of my talents -- not at all!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May you have the happiest of birthday's ever!!! Not only are you a GREAT Mum, you are also a GREAT friend and a wonderful woman of God. All God’s Best ♥... with love and care, Kerrie xOx

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your comment about threading the needle. I don't sew either --but when I do any mending, threading the needle is the hardest part of the entire thing...
