Feeding tube has been removed and she cried for the first time.
What a Blessing....What a Praise to the Lord!
Zoey will remain in the hospital for a while longer, so please keep those prayers coming....
*****************
It was a hard two miles for me this morning.....Walking for exercise is a mind thing and I believe it needs to become a habit.....I'm not quite there yet, but I will be!!
Do you ever wake up to a sign like the one above staring you in the face?
I suppose the word "Warning" is the first clue that the day might be filled with many obstacles....
Most of us know of someone who occasionally pops in and out of our life and when they do decide to pop in, they try to bring with them the garbage of their own life....Their life is a mess and they depend upon us to bail them out of these big messes that they get themselves into...I'm just not sure they have the ability to ever grow up!
This can be very draining!
I don't know about you, but I do not want to be an enabler to anyone....I don't want to be a part of the bad choices that people make.....
Yesterday was one of those kind of days for me, and when I finally went to bed, I had to tell myself...."I can still care...I can still be kind to this person.....but I do not have to take on challenges that I have no control over....Prayer....this is what I can do....I can pray!"
Today is going to be a great day.....
No "Warning" signs ahead.....
I do hope that your day is a lot like you....
Simply Wonderful....
Blessings.....

Hi Shug, Glad Zoey is doing better.. What a Cutie!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnabling those we love is the hardest thing in the world for us NOT to do... It hurts that person in the long run more than helping them.. BUT--we humans keep doing it 'thinking' that we are doing the correct thing... That is where "Tough Love" comes in!!!!!! Good Luck.
Hugs,
Betsy
Zoey is just precious and am so glad to hear of her first cry. May God continue to be with you all.
ReplyDeleteOh, Shug, thank you for this post! But first, so glad the baby is off the feeding tube and doing better. As far as the other, I have the same problem as you know, and I have decided to limit my time and resources. Well, I'm running out of resources (money) anyway, so that part isn't hard. But I no longer run to the phone every time I know it's "him" and call back when I am in the right frame of mind. It's not easy, but I have to. Hang in there!
ReplyDeletePraying for you and yours....I think a lot of folks have the same issues but that doesn't help you cope with your issue any better. I think your philosophy is right on target...hang in there!
ReplyDeletePraising God with you for Zoey and prayers continue for her!
ReplyDeleteLearning to stop enabling is a hard one but so very rewarding! It takes boundaries and a strength from the Lord because it is truly only HIM that can help them or us in this situation. I can't tell you how many times I would lay something (or someone) down, giving it to God, then pick it right back up thinking "I" had to help. Being a Jr. Holy Spirit is NOT MY JOB LOL
Praying for you Shug! Hoping you can have the peace that passes all understanding as you lay all of it down! Blessings to you my friend!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your header!!!! I know what you mean. And it is a fine line. We want to help them and remember what Jesus said about this kind of thing, but at the same time, not encourage a bad lifestyle or decisions!! As a deacon, I face this quite a bit. And is this person really a friend, or one who only shows up when they need help?
ReplyDeleteHope all is going better today.
ReplyDeleteZoey is a cutie and those prayers are on the way.
Melinda
So glad Zoey is improving!! Prayer is THE BEST thing you could every do... and you are so right. blessings to you, Shug. tanna
ReplyDeleteHer first cry! Outstanding :-) Glad she's doing better.
ReplyDeleteI hear you about not enabling people and still wanting to feel like you care. Some days I'd swear every ounce of grace has been sucked out of me. That's when I double up on the prayers and try to get a reallllly good night's sleep.
Hang in there. xo jj
Hi Shug,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad about baby Zoey and she will be in my prayers.
I'm printing out the challanges ahead sign - because I know they are - life is rough - Thank Heaven for your blog - I always take a deep breath, pull myself up and put one foot in front of the other - or as the Brits say I just try to "Keep Calm and Carry On"!!!!
I'm so proud of you and your walking - keep it up!
Mary x
The words you posted today are just what I need.By god's grace I can and will pray about circumstances near me,but I cannot carry the load on my shoulders.
ReplyDeleteWell this I know from vast experiences - no one can make another person change - they have to change themselves.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear Baby Zoey is doing better.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy old buildings and have taken many many pictures. Always glad to see you visited my blog. Have a blessed day
Hi Shug, I'm happy to hear the news that little Zoey is doing better! I pray that she continues to improve every day. As for walking, you're doing great...me, not so great. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHi Shug, Loving thoughts and prayers to that sweet angel! I know what you mean about those 'warning' days, had a few of those myself! Just remember that you have been given the strength of character to handle people and situations. You are one of lifes givers, a lot of other people dont have that gift, dont change.
ReplyDeleteThankyou for your lovely comment on my blog, I will now think of your sister(a thought is a prayer) on Carlys birthday every year! Lots of love. AnneMarie. xx
