The What If's Of Life.....

Do you ever let yourself get caught up in the "What If 's" of life?

This is so easy to do.....What if this....What if that....But....What if?

What if I'd been that Hippie that I never wanted to be?
(way before my time anyways)

What if I had finally learned to swim.  What if I were a fabulous chef..
What if I were too skinny.............
What if I were a professional at anything?  What If I had a major degree?
What if I were stranded on an island.  (with Gus....joke)

And then there are these kind of "What If's"

What If I had taken the time to witness to that person, What if I had taken the time
to be a better mother, What if I had been a better friend, What if I had not been selfish and had taken the time to listen to the needs of others?

I am most certain that we all have experienced the "What If's" of life....

this is just a part of our human nature!

Regrets can certainly weigh heavy on our minds and can sometimes even become a burden.  This is why we must go before the Lord on a daily basis and ask God to direct our steps.....Make our paths straight in order for us to see what is ahead of us.

The very first thing that I love to do each morning is to wake up and say...Good Morning Lord!  It's me again and I need your guidance today.  Help me to see with open eyes the things that YOU have ordered for me today.

The heavy burdens of regret and the constant worry of the "What if's" can only bog me down...This is why I accept the wonderful Blessing of letting God lead me!

I do not want to let anything keep me from losing sight of God.....

Shug Sez....

Allow yourself to be free of the "What If's" of life.....Let God be direct your paths!

What if we never thought of the what-if's? Only to learn from them and move on. This race is too hard to run with excess baggage. Not to look ahead or forward, but always up. This minute is all we have, and all our eforts should be with it. Great post, I was a teenager in the 60's and wore love beads and went to see The Beatles. But also lived through the Charles Manson thing.

What if I had never started blogging? What if I had never met you???? Whatever the reasons, I did start blogging and I did meet you... AM GLAD about that!!!!!

Great post... I guess we all can second guess ourselves when things go wrong and we blame ourselves (what if we did it this way-or that way??) They call that being a "Monday Morning Quarterback"... ha

We just need to do the best we can and not second guess ourselves....

Hi Shug!

I have many "what if's" in my life! What if I had married the man that I was engaged to . . . first? What if I had never met my sweetheart of a husband? What if I had never learned to use a computer and meet wonderful friends? Thanks for making me reach and think today - and I will ask God for more guidance in my life, you never know who you will be lead to ... ;0)

Hi Shug, oh yes I have played the "what if" game more times than I can say! Great post. I need that reminder to let God guide me each day and not to waste time on the what ifs!

BTW, Shug, have you asked your hubby about the fruit trees for me? I'd love to know what he thinks of the dwarfs. Thanks!

Hugs, Cheryl

Hi, Shug! So nice to meet you! 'Preciate you stopping by!

My Sand Flat is near State Park if you know where that is. I know the Chandler area well, grew up in Tyler. I guess we ARE neighbors! Howdy neighbor!

I'm enjoying my reading here this evening. Your blog is very upbeat and encouraging and I imagine I'll be visiting often for a little lift and some introspection ~~ like today ~~ the "what ifs". I had a huge "what if" recently. One of my in-laws' neighbors died suddenly and he was gay. We later learned that he had AIDS. We tried to be good Christian examples, but sadly, never actually sat down and visited with this man about the Lord. We did befriend him, but we really fell short. What if we'd talked to him about the Saviour's forgiveness and love? I am so sad now and I never want this to happen again. We have such regret about this incident. And there are people like this all around us who need the Lord.

Thanks for such a great post today! Think I'll just follow...
