January 2026
Sam had his first treatment yesterday. We were there for about 3 hours total and he did so very well.
There was not a comfortable place for me to be able to sit with him, so I ran a few errands while he was there. Of course..... I had to go to Office Depot (one of my favorite stores.) I needed to pick up a new calendar that I can carry with me in my purse. The calendar on my phone works well, but I like to have things written down so that I can keep up with all the appointments.
I also went to Dillards to exchange a shirt that the girls had gotten their dad for Christmas. Woo Hoo....I came out good. There was a big sale going on, so I ended up being able to get him 2 shirts for the price of the one that I took back... This is a big WIN!
I made it back over to pick him up about 15 minutes before he finished. When we left, we stopped and grabbed a sub-way sandwich for our "Late" lunch and then headed home. He is very tired, but this is to be expected. It was a long day!
I have a huge PRAISE REPORT. While Sam was receiving his treatment, he had a message from the lung doctor.
THERE ARE NO CANCER CELLS IN THE FLUID THAT WAS DRAINED FROM AROUND HIS LUNG!! 👐. I AM RAISING MY HANDS IN PRAISE TO GOD..

Weather:
Our weather is Warm again. Monday we had temps in the very low 30's. Yesterday afternoon our air conditioner was running!! Y'all...people are sick around here and I totally understand why, with the drastic changes in the temps. So many people have colds, flu A, covid and such.
Tyler (our grandson that is in the Military) and his family were here for a few days. I wish I could say more about his service to our Country, but it's one of those things where I have to be very careful.
Our daughter had all of our family over for dinner on New Year's Eve and it was so nice to get to visit with Tyler, Emalee and our great grands. The picture above was taken when they dropped by our house yesterday morning. He loves his "POPS" and it was really hard for him to say "See ya later Pops."
They have a wedding to attend tonight in the Dallas area, and then their flight home is early Sunday morning. It was a quick trip, but it was really great to see them and get some big hugs.... I miss them already.

Keeping in prayer...much love and many hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful praiseworthy news! I join with you in praising God. Sam looks good but I can tell in his eyes, he's tired which is totally understandable.
ReplyDeleteI totally get how proud you are of your grandson. When my son was deployed twice to the Persian gulf, he was blacked out from communicating. It helped that my husband had served for 20 years so he got me through those times. My husband still has things he cannot talk about.
Very cute picture of baby boy William in the tub. Boy he's growing g so fast.
Take care and God bless 🙏
Such wonderful news all around ... from the smokin' deal on those shirts to NO cancer cells in Sam's fluid! That image of Tyler and Sam almost choked me up -- until I caught sight of little William's hair.
ReplyDeleteLifting prayers for everyone's travel mercies ... and Sam's appetite, too!
Wonderful news about Sam.
ReplyDeleteFamily is what life is all about. Love the pictures of them and of course Lucy is a family member too.
That's the best news. My condolences to your grandson Tyler, trump just said in a news conference that the US will run Venezuela, with the help of American troops...Iraq 2.0. if he's due to end his service, he shouldn't re-enlist because fighting for globalists in Venezuela, Iran, Ukraine, Taiwan isn't worth the risk.
ReplyDeleteI will start with, I love Lucy... ha ha so happy to hear no cancer cells in fluid and that the first infusion went well. my brother goes every Friday morning for chemo, and comes home all full of steroids that make him have a lot of energy, then falls down the rabbit hole until he goes again on Friday. his cancer cells are shrinking in count really good.
ReplyDeleteTyler is so handsome and looks a lot like Sam... precious boy in the bath.. glad they could all come for a visit.
So glad that Sam's infusions went well and the cells are clear!! Woot! That baby is adorable...the hair!! Omigoodness!! So sweet!!
ReplyDeletePraying for these treatments, their effectiveness, and all that comes with this chapter in your lives. LOVED seeing your military grandson hugging his grandpa. Thanks for his service -- no need to explain anything. Military service is prevalent in my family. I get it. Sweet pictures, all.
ReplyDeleteOh SHUG!!!! This makes me so happy! I have really been praying for Sam! And he is looking good, too. How often will he get the treatments? I have heard great things about immunotherapy. I hope the dietician can expend his eating choices!
ReplyDeleteNo cancer cells in the lung and no side effects from the infusion - PRAISE GOD!
ReplyDeleteI wish they had a seat for you - usually they do. ??
I know it was good to see Tyler and hard for him to go.
Willian's hair was so cute.
You have a big grand dog - LUCY!
Hallelujah !!!!
ReplyDeletePraising the Lord for the good report on the fluids and that he came through the infusion so well. Of course I will continue to pray about all of this...
The photo of Sam and Tyler is so precious. That's the best gift ever .. and I thank him for his service.
Crazy weather we all having ... hot, cold, rain and drought..never a dull moment.
I love your banner Shug. In the next few days I am going to begin my journal that you gave me ... I am entitling it Lessons and Blessings too.
(((hugs)))
Sue
That is great news from Sams doctor. Also happy to hear that he made it through his first infusion without issues. Understandable that he was nervous.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the bargain at the store.
oh, such WONDERFUL news! No cancer cells in the lung fluid is huge! Praise God! Praying now for Sam to be able to endure the treatments and praying they will do the job they are intended to do. Oh, that picture of him with his grandson is priceless. I love that so much. And that sweet little William in the tub is so cute! That water sure is BLUE! He is SO cute! I loved all the news and pictures. A happy post all the way!! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteShug, I'm happy to hear this news about Sam. Thank you God. Sounds like you had a good time at Dillards. We don't have one where I live in nor Cal. Love the picture of grandson and Sam, so sweet. And a delightful picture of William and his tub time. Mylee and Remi kind of look alike. That is really something that your a/c was running yesterday. I have my heater on right now, and it's cold from the rain we've been having, but cozy inside. : )
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO happy to read about the results. What a wonderful, wonderful way to kick off the new year. LOOOOVE that. Very happy for you both. Bonus on the two shirts for the price of one. Hot dog. Life is good.
ReplyDeleteHi, Shug... That is a huge blessing!! I wasn't aware that Sam was ill, he will be in my prayers as he continues his treatments. What wonderful photos! Grandchildren just tug at your heartstrings. I love the photo of your sweet little grand in the tub, what a cutie! It's always hard to see them go home. We will be getting our first g-grandchild in August of this year! We are beyond excited!! Many blessing to you and Sam... Hugs and Love, Barb
ReplyDeletePraise God for no cancer! I will keep praying for further upbeat news.
ReplyDeleteThat’s good news about the lungs, and that the infusion went well. Still praying and sending love. ❤️
ReplyDeleteSuch great news about Sam! And that picture of your grandson and Sam...so precious. We think we raise our kids and then our grands come along and our heart comes back even fuller.
ReplyDeleteMay the good Lord bless Sam and you, Shug. What you are both going through is not easy. It's a rough journey. But your attitudes are positive and that counts. A lot. My prayers will continue for you both. Even though they are just a drop in the bucket, every drop counts, right? God bless you both. I hope your entire week ahead is good. Shug, I just LOVE your headers. Is it hard to change them? How do you do it? Can you tell me? The best to you on this firt weekend of the new year! Susan
ReplyDeleteHere is to hoping for continued success and good news. Hopefully the side effects stay away, you are blessed with a great family.
ReplyDeletePraise God for His continued love, mercy and healing for Sam!!! What a sweet photo of Tyler and him, Shug. And the little one in the bath? I'm smiling ear to ear! So glad you could see family over the holidays. We so enjoyed seeing ours. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Sam and Tyler brought tears to my eyes. Praising God with you, my precious friend, regarding the message Sam received from his doctor! HE heard our prayers and answered them. May He receive all of the glory. The first picture of Sam was a blessing. For everything he's been through he still looks good. Again, to God be the glory for the great things HE has done.
