Ah, Monday

Ah, Monday!  You are here!!

Update for my sciatic pain:  I am feeling much better this morning.  I spent the entire weekend...pampering my leg and it seems to be working.  Thank you all for the prayers.

We are expecting an arctic front this week.  Our current conditions are sunny skies with temperatures around 30 degrees.

I know this is no comparison for those of you who are in the negative degree zones.

Sam spent a good bit of the day yesterday, covering most of our plants and covering the pool pump.  We had to uncover them just last week when the temps reached into the upper 80's.  Had we not uncovered the plants, they would have burned.

Tuesday through Friday, our morning lows are expected to be in the teens and the 20's.

This weeks meals:   COMFORT FOODS!

Enchiladas

and.......

Chicken Stew...

And of course....Cast Iron skillet Cornbread.

Happy Monday Friends...

Shug.

  1. I seriously need to make a note to myself that you blog seven days a week. I'm so sorry that you were dealing with the sciatica pain over the weekend. I had that back last fall and it's definitely no picnic in the park. You are in my prayers, my friend. I'm glad that you are beginning to feel some better.

We are enjoying seeing some pretty white flakes falling from the sky at the present. Our temperature yesterday went from 52 to low 20s by evening. But spring will be here soon. Hugs

  4. I love that picture of Yay Monday. I think I may give trying to draw that girl sometime real soon. Wonder if I can do it?
I'm so glad you are feeling better. Pampering was just what the doctor ordered and oh my, your meals look divine. I love both enchiladas and chicken stew..never used Turmeric in cooking before. I do take capsules everyday along with my other "meds". What does it do in the recipe?
Stay warm..that's cold anywhere one lives!

  9. Thank you Lord for pain relief!!!
Oh Shug, if I could claw my way through this monitor and into that pan of enchiladas I'd do it! Love Alabama, but oh my, these people have no clue what good Mexican food's all about. Thanks for the chicken soup recipe -- it's lots like what I call "de-tox" soup, but I don't recall ever having tasted a parsnip. Hmmmm.

  13. That's pretty cold for your area, Shug. Bundle up and stay warm. There's always something special about the cold weather though and the rain and the snow. I know we always need the rain in California. That was a lot of work for Sam. What a trooper to have done that. Your enchiladas and chicken stew look really good. I love soups and stews on cold winter days. Keep us updated on your weather, Shug. We are far from each other in distance, but so close in this wonderful land of blogging.
