Brrrr......... ❄ ❅ ❆ ❅ ❄ ❆
The cold weather is loving Texas, but I'm not sure that Texas is loving the cold weather.
Let me see if I can send you some positive energy to warm you up.
Wrap your day in warmth, no matter how cold it is outside. Let kindness be your scarf, hope your gloves, and gratitude your coat. Hoping all these things shield you from the Freezing Cold.

It seems like I am always posting about Chili and how I'm always cooking homemade Chili. Well I was busy again this past weekend, making Homemade Chili. Here's a silly poem!
Shug's famous Chili
A pot on the stove simmering slow,
The smell of Shug's chili begins to flow.
Rich with spices, a flavor so profound,
Warming the soul where memories are found.
The grandkids gather, bowls in hand,
Eager for tastes so perfectly planned.
"Just one more scoop!" they often say,
For Shug's famous chili makes their day.
A dash of love in every bite,
The feel of home, cozy and tight.
Around the table, laughter flows free,
Oh this chili - a cherished legacy.
I made a huge pot to send out to my kiddos in West Texas. One of the grandsons came home for the weekend, so.... I had the opportunity to send chili home with him. I made it and then froze it in a container for easy traveling.
Having all of the extra ingredients, made it easy, to make another pot to go in our freezer. Maybe, just maybe, we will have some more cold weather this next month.
Here's to a cup of hot cocoa, soft blankets, and a roaring fire to keep you cozy and warm.
Shug.
I love your positive attitude, my friend. You are an inspiration. And I loved your poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you friend. I have had to work a little harder at being positive since the passing of my brother. I guess I'm still grieving, but I know it will get easier. Have a very Blessed day.
DeleteDid you get any snow? I saw on the weather some places in Texas are getting snow. We are bitter cold here.
ReplyDeleteHey do you have a copy of your chili recipe you could send me. IT sounds so good. Last time I made chili it was not good. Can't get the hang of it.
Enjoyed reading today!
Not one bit of snow here. It was originally in the forecast for us to have some, but it went south. I will send you a copy...it is so easy and simple.
DeleteI love this poem, Shug! Perhaps you can have that done on a sampler and framed? I'm doing another white chili later today ... praying for a bit of snow.
ReplyDeleteAwe... Thank you...My kiddos would get a big laugh out of it. White chili sound so good. No snow here.
DeleteYou must make some chili. Of course you would - you’re a Texan! 🤠 Love your “silly” poem that is not that silly if it’s true. I love that you sent some home with the grands. That’s what Grandmas are supposed to do. Love it all.
ReplyDeleteoh yes....we love Chili here in Texas. Mexican food as well. The grand boys love the chili . I need to teach them how to make it.
DeleteShug, I've heard that Texans love their Chili. And yours sounds wonderfully good! Your poem is delightful. That's a good idea to freeze some of your chili for later. My brother-in-law brought us some homemade chili and we put some in the freezer to enjoy later. Love the cozy and charming pictures you shared with your poem, Shug. Your words on kindness, hope, and gratitude were beautiful.

We do love Chili and there is actually a big debate....Chili with beans or no beans. No beans for us. Enjoy your chili ....just about any chili is good.
DeleteSuch a cute poem, Shug! Now, you have me wanting chili, too, especially since we're in the deep freeze right along with our Texas friends. Have a blessed day filled with warmth and gratitude!
ReplyDeleteThank you ....I saw on the news just a bit ago where you all will be getting more cold temps and snow...Enjoy, but stay warm
DeleteI hear it's very cold in TX right now - it is here too! Anyway, perfect chili weather!
ReplyDeleteIt is very cold for Texas....we are in the 20's and I know that this is nothing compared to the Northern states, but we certainly are not used to this. Stay Warm
DeleteNOT Silly...perfect poem. I could smell the chili and the coziness of the family gathering together.
ReplyDeletePut those Long Johns on and enjoy the day.

Another day of me having my good warm pj's on. it is too cold outside to go out, so here I am warm and comfy in these flannels.
DeleteLovely post, we need some positive energy. Your poem is sooooo cute. And now I want chili. I do have the crockpot going with corn beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandy. Your meal does sound very good. However..I have never had corn beef. anything with pot, carrots and onions is good.
DeleteYour chili recipe is so cool! did you write it? How did you get those pretty sparkles in the first photo? I see on the weather about record breaking snow in Texas, and Louisiana. Did you get any snow, is any in the forecast?
ReplyDeleteHey Ginny....I did make up this silly poem. lol. IN our area, we have some bitterly cold temps, but no precipitation. Down South from us they are getting a good bit of snow.
DeleteIn my world chili doesn't have to wait for a cold day. It's good any time.
