Outside my kitchen window......

Outside my kitchen window this morning......

The weather is quiet chilly this morning, but I do see some signs that Spring is about to chase us down.
After two or three days of the wind blowing like CRAZY.....I am thrilled to see some kind of calmness outside.  I can take the cold weather and the rain, but when the wind is blowing with a fierce personality......then all I want to do is to stay inside.  Honestly, the wind makes my head swim!

These little jewels are still holding their heads up high.  How?  I do not know.  At times, I thought that the wind was going to snap them right into.  Their petals were not even damaged.

On the other hand.....this poor tulip tree just could not hold all of it's delicate blooms.
A few were left clinging to the branches, but underneath the looks like a sea of lavender.

The howling winds had NO hold on this school bus....I love living in a small town and being able to see the school buses as they travel down the streets, to deliver the precious cargo to each campus.

I can see the wild pear trees in full bloom......(The winds didn't harm these blooms)
And this my sweet friends is how I know that Spring is on it's way.
When the country side is painted with white....then, you just know that it won't be long until the grass turns green and the trees begin to break open with new life.

Do you see it?  Touches of green are already blanketing the bar ditches....

I love it!  Spring is on it's way!!

Have a fun day!

Beautiful pictures. I sure am waiting for spring. I too have a hard time with all this windy weather. All day yesterday we had icy rain and high winds. I don't see any green yet. Perhaps in a few weeks.

Yea! I'm anxiously awaiting Spring! It can't get here quick enough. I so enjoyed your pics that show Spring is "bursting forth."

It's about the same here. The Jane Magnolia has lost all her blooms because of the wind. If it's calm there now, I'm glad to hear that because it means calmness is around the corner for us, too. Looks like you got the red-bellied woodpecker! He's a beauty.

Seeing these images makes the snow outside look very unwelcome. Spring will come here too, just a little later.

That's something I haven't seen yet...a pear tree in bloom so soon. Your jonquil shot is beautiful! I am SO done with winter. We have had rain and strong wind for days, and now I have a horrible head and chest cold. I am sure it has nothing to do with going out in the rain in my Crocs last night and soaking my socks, then sitting in a play for two mother would have killed me, and with good reason.

I love your signs of spring. We will see spring here one of these days but not until Mother Nature stops throwing these snow storms our way. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Shug, Looks like Spring is truly coming to your area. Sorry about all of the winds. We have had them also-but we don't have too much spring up here yet. In fact, we have some snow today--and it's COLD.

Love your Red-bellied woodpecker.

Nice shot of the woodpecker. We sometimes get the bigger ones in our backyard, not the ivory billed :)
