The Old Family Bible

"The Old Family Bible"

Oh Yes.....how I remember the family Bible, and

how as a child, I spent many hours looking at all

of the bright colored pictures that seemed so huge

at the time.

I remember seeing the picture of {this man} with

his arms opened wide and a crown of thorns that

seemed to be causing huge drops of blood to drip

down his face.

At such a young age, it was very hard for me to

understand, what this picture was really all about.

I can also recall, how our mother would explain

to us about {this man} named ......"Jesus".....who

loved us so very much.

Over the years, "The Old Family Bible" has

become tattered and worn, but the wisdom and

knowledge learned from those colorful pictures,

remain precious in my heart today......

The blood that Jesus shed for me,

way back on Calvary;

the blood that gives me strength

from day to day,

it will never lose its power.

It reaches to the highest mountain,

it flows to the lowest valley;

the blood that gives me strength

from day to day,

it will never lose its power.

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears,

and it dries all my tears;

the blood that gives me strength

from day to day,

it will never lose its power.

It's "Good Friday" and I am so thankful for
the precious Blessings that fill my life today....

Thank you Lord!

Happy Easter to each of you......

As High As A Kite.....

It's a good, good morning around here....

I was awakened this morning by the happiness of the numerous birds that were singing outside of my bedroom window....

What a delightful sound to wake up to.

Take a step into our home and chances are, you'll find yourself as "High as a Kite."   This is the reason that my windows are all open.

Do you remember that kitchen remodeling project that I spoke of several months ago?  Well, it is finally getting finished.  The painters are here this week and oh my, the odors are so strong.

The process of staining, shellacking, sanding, and painting leaves the house filled with enough {highs}...... that could send a kite sailing to the moon.

Thank goodness, the temps around here have been cooler than they were last week.  It really has not been that bad without the air conditioner running...  We have raised all the windows and we have 3 different fans buzzing in our bedroom.

Sleeping is not a problem, but staying home during the day is, so I have kinda been {scattered} this week, and this is the reason why I have not been able to do my daily visits in the blogging world....  Mylee and I have been out and about doing all sorts of things...

Hopefully these guys will be finished by tomorrow......If not, I'll continue to enjoy the beautiful singing from the birds.....

Make today a great day!

See How Simple This Is....

I promise, it seems like time is sure passing by fast.  Can you believe we are already into the month of April?  What happened to January, February, and March?

Easter is this Sunday and tax day is the Sunday after that!!  Whew Hoo!!   (of course, since the post office is closed on Sunday's, the IRS gives us an extra day)      Two weeks after tax day, the month of MAY comes flying in..........

What does May bring?  Mother's day!

I am happy to announce that I have been asked to decorate a table at our church for the Mother's Day Brunch.  Am I excited?  Yes I am!   But.....I need your help!!!

This kind of thing is usually pretty easy for me to do, but I think my decorating abilities are temporarily out of order.

Note:

{The gifts we have received are not ours alone. God gave them to us for the purpose of serving Him and for helping others.
Each of us has something to give and we are to share our talents with our friends}

I need a little help from my talented friends!
I know that many of you are super talented when it comes to this kind of decorating, so I am asking you to send me some suggestions...

See how simple this is?  I need your ideas with colors, a theme, favors, poems, a centerpiece and maybe some unique gift items for the beautiful ladies that will be sitting at my table.  Your help just might help me win the 1st place table award........

I'm counting on all of you, so get those minds turning and leave me some comments....PLEASE!!

That's all Folks......
See ya tomorrow and I can't wait to hear what you have to say!!

A Brand New Day....

Today....is a brand new day!

As each new day unfolds, it is my goal to seek Optimism and Cheerfulness in my day.

Of course, I believe in that old saying...."Life is what you make it!" If I want my day to filled with gloom and doom, then all I have to do is to keep the window shades closed and allow my mind to travel into those "Woe is Me" kind of places.

If I want my day to filled with new beginnings, then I must be willing to look for them.  I can create a new friendship if I will open myself up to people around me.

I can create delightful joy in our home when I allow my heart to be filled with the music of life.

I thank God for the Amazing Day that HE has set before me.... I am  determined in my heart to
enjoy the sweetness of this beautiful Spring day, and to give God the Glory and the Praise for
the new life, the new hope and the new joy that HE gives......

Hey friends....Enjoy the beauty the surrounds you today!

Sweet Hugs...

He Wears {it} Well........

Happy Sunday, Dear Friends.....

Many thanks to each of you,  for all the well wishes.  I feel much, much better today!  And...the grandkids are all well too!   Woo Wee!!

I can't believe how fast a tummy bug can delete one's stamina.
It can sure throw your electrolytes way out of wack......

I even made it to church this morning.

and I was sporting my new hat!!!!  I just love these things.

But, I wasn't by myself......Oh no, my precious grandson decided that he needed to be fancied up as well....

Tyler is our comedian grandson!  Don't you think he wears a hat real well?  He was sure enjoying all the attention that he was getting.    He borrowed my hat for about 5 minutes....just long enough for everyone to notice him, and for them to notice that I had a ring around MY head, where the hat had pressed my hair down....

Oh well.....pressed down hair or not, it was all worth seeing that precious smile on his face....

Have I told y'all lately, that I love my grandchildren!

Blessings,
shug
