As Promised....

......Again, Today was BEAUTIFUL!
Spent part of the day watching grand kids play basketball and the other part of the day was spent with our oldest grandson Tyler and his precious girlfriend, Kelsey.  We drove through the country and even stopped at an artesian well.  We each drank from the well, and the water was soooo goood!  It was clear and so cold....What a wonderful day it turned out to be!!

AS PROMISED......pictures of my remodeling projects!

The door to my new pantry.....please keep in mind that this
job has not been completed.  Still have lot's to do!

One view of the pantry.....I can assure you, I am going to
LOVE this added space....

I replaced a wall of cabinets with this piece of furniture...
I love the look of the bead board that I had put on the wall behind this particular piece....

There will be a matching piece on the wall above!  And...the bead board is going to have a clear coat color put on it, when all the wood work is done!  Thankfully, I can move the furniture pieces out in order to paint.

This side of the room will also have the bead board on the walls......See, I told you that we still have much to do!!

Another style of cabinet on the other side.......Carson wanted to make sure that "King Tut" was not inside!!  He always comes up with some of the funniest little comments .......

As seen before, my completed tile floor.

Welcome to the family room......Almost put back together!

I am very pleased with the new flooring....Now I want to have my bedroom floor re-done in the wood flooring...

I moved a few things around from one side of the room to other....

Like....this cabinet

AND....

This cabinet!

This one was a little too big for me to handle on my own!!

So, there you go......We have gone from this...

to

THIS......and I am loving it!

Like I said, we still have a lot to do, but as stated earlier this week, I am learning to be patient!!

Hope you enjoyed my tour!

Achy Breaky

Achy Breaky....is just how I feel this morning...

Nothing broken, but for sure, I have some ACHY going on!

You all know me very well, and you must know that I am not going to sit around all day waiting for furniture to be put back into place.  I called the floor guy and left him a message to please give me a call....I was offering to pay him to come put my furniture back in place.  (of course, I did want a few things moved from here to there)  Great emphasis on the word FEW!

Wouldn't you know it......he did not get my message until around 4:00 yesterday afternoon.  So, Miss Fire in the Pants decided she could do it herself!  AND I DID!!!!  Everything has it's place.

I know you all love to see pictures and I love posting pictures, but......through all this moving around and stuff being stored here and there, I forgot to CHARGE my camera! :(    SORRY!   I'll have some ready for tomorrow's post.

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL here in East Texas.....Warm bright sunny days!  Picnic and going to the park kind of weather....

I'm hoping to take Mylee to the park some this next week and hopefully we will have a few more days of beautiful weather.  I'm needing some new pictures of ALL the kids, so maybe I can capture some good ones of her next week....  I'd actually love to keep the other grandkids out of school for a day and us just have fun doing a day of photo shooting.....   I'm thinking the school might not excuse them for missing school, just because Shug needs some new photos!  What you think??

Now that my house is back in order, I plan to spend more time working on my blog....AND....joining some of the blog parties that take place each week....

Well that's all Folks!  Have a good weekend...and lots of hugs
from ME to YOU...

What I've Learned....

Woo Hoo...Woo Hoo....Woo Hoo!

The Family room floor is FINISHED!

We have been living in some Topsy Turvy surroundings
for the past two months, and I can certainly testify that
it is NOT fun.

Everything sounds so good when you start the process of a remodeling project, but then, it quickly becomes CHAOS!!

Take the floors for example....Eddie, my floor guy says "I'll be there Monday, and it should only take a couple of days."

And, somehow things don't always work out the way they plan.
First, let me say....it wasn't his fault that the supplier did not pull the wood out of the warehouse and let it be acclimating over the weekend!  So, this is something that we had to do!  Two days of acclimating...

Then....another day to float the floor and let it dry.  (Unexpected)
And finally, the floor is in!   It is now Friday, and I have to put this place back together before the weekend....BTW, Eddie did an excellent job!  Thanks Eddie!!

I might be a little tired by night time, but hopefully the chaos will be over for a few weeks.....Still have some kitchen work to do and my contractor is on another job at this time.  I surely can wait 4 more weeks (or 5 or 6) to have it all completed!!

Did I mention that I am the kind of person that likes to get things done?  YEP....Mrs. Impatient here!  I like to get projects going and get them finished in a VERY TIMELY matter.......

Got time on your hands today???
Swing on by and I'll put you to work....

Life is good and I pray that you all are filled
with happiness today!

My Dream of A Road Trip....

Today is going to be a great day!!!

I Just have to let you all know that I am getting ready to embark
upon a very difficult challenge.......Our church, or should I say, those that feel led to do so, are PREPARING  for a 21 day FAST......The
"Daniel Fast" to be exact.

I have been reading and studying about this fast and I can definitely tell you that much prayer is needed.......

I've always wanted to make a road trip around the perimeters of the mainland of the good ol' USA and this just might be the time to do so!    I  would LOVE   to get in the car and let God be my driver for the entire trip.....Isn't this the way it's suppose to be anyways?

I think it would be awesome to know that I  was being led by God while I, as the passenger spent every single moment of this trip, fasting, praying and having complete fellowship with the Lord......Not having to deal with my focus on food or drink.... or any other thing that might get in my way.   Our views would be filled with all the breathtaking wonders that God, Himself so graciously placed before us.....

I can only imagine how deep my thoughts and prayers would be and how fast the 21 day period would pass, while I escaped into
the ride of a lifetime....God as my  pilot and my life being in total harmony with Him (as it should be everyday.)  No outside world trying to steal my time, no pressures, no worries....Only me and God, on a road trip, filled with total peace!

I don't know if any of you have ever pursued this kind of fast before, but I do know that in my studies, I have learned that this is a straight forward fast that is designed to draw me closer to the Lord while I spend time in prayer for revival in this land, people and real needs...

I pray that I can be steadfast in this endeavor and that my strength will be greater than I could ever have imagined it to be....

If you know about this fast and have any recipes or suggestions in regards to feeding the body, then I would love to hear about them....

Blessings.......and, I do plan to post a picture in regards to my empty bookshelves....TODAY!

Still Acclimating......

Happy January 4th.....

Acclimate.....this is a word that I really have never paid much attention to....UNTIL now!  We are still acclimating around here.

Acclimate is defined as:  To be comfortable with something new, such as a new temperature or a new situation....

To adapt, adjust, or conform........These are some great words to use...especially when hinting as to what is going on around here.

**********

Instant gratification....from my observations, this is what the world is all about right now.

We really are the generation of text messaging with a need for an instant reply.  We are the generation of lunch-time face lifts, liposuction, and make-overs.

How about all those INSTANT things that we cram into our bodies...like, instant foods or instant drinks.  Or....instant pills that guarantee to remove fats and detox all the bad toxins from our systems?

We are all looking for instant results in everything we do.  In the same way, we want instant results from GOD.  We are not happy when we don't get immediate answers...

What we must remember is that God's timing is always the PERFECT
timing!!

In our wait....God is with us!  HE may be protecting us from something along the way, or it could be that we are not listening and HE has to get our attention in other ways that we might not understand..   The bottom line is that HE knows what is best for us and we need to learn to TRUST HIM!

Blessings to each of you!!

Always The Same....Yesterday, Today and Forever

Change Happens.....

Every day, there are changes all around us.  People change, the weather changes, we change cars, we change our minds about certain things, our taste in foods change, we are blessed to find new friends, some people change jobs, churches, and we even change our taste for behaviors....

One thing that we can always count on is the Love of God....His love for us never changes!  It is always steadfast and true....always the same yesterday, today and Forever!

Praise the Lord!

Did I Overdo It?

Good Morning....Happy second day of the New Year.........2012.     Isn't it amazing how we love change?  A new year brings about the opportunity for change doesn't it?

Ooops....I'm just wondering if I have made way too many changes already?  After taking down all the Christmas decor, I started cleaning and cleaning and cleaning....Did I overdo it??

Check out my pictures and tell me if you think there is the possibiltiy that I have over cleaned....

Table #1......  I see a lamp!  Is there a need for anything else??

Table # 2........  I think I see another lamp!  I think this is good!
How about you?  Is this enough for this table?

Tv # 1

Ooooooo......Here we go.  I see a lamp and a receiver!
Looks pretty clean to me.  What do you think?

Cabinet # 1

Oh Dear.....This shelf is empty.....No wait, I think I see some dust.
Maybe I didn't do so well here.....

Cabinet #2

No Lamp?  Maybe I did go a bit far in cleaning this shelf....
Naw....I see a little dust here as well....

Cabinet # 3

Whew....I will admit that it took me a long time to clean out this cabinet....but finally, it is done.

So what ya think???

Am I a good cleaner or what?  Did I over do it?

************

Living in a small town, you can hear anything and many people  come up with their own opinions before knowing any facts .....Now mind you, very few people have been inside our home through my so called cleaning spree, so I know that the knowledge that I am about to share with you did not come about, because of any guest seeing all of the empty shelves inside our home.....

But, RUMOR has it, That we are MOVING!!

YEP,  THEY.....  say that we are moving....

******

Yes, a lot of extra cars have been parked in the drive way lately.  Yes there have been some unusual work trailers parked in our driveway as well, so I can only assume that this is how that Rumor has come about!!

Don't you just love these things called Rumors?.....This means that some folks are actually allowing their minds to be active.

The answer is NO, we are not moving!  (At least not for now!  hey, got to keep em' thinking)

*******
Let me know if you think I've been over-cleaning, or if you just think I'm up to something!!

Follow me this week to find out the details to the "Rest of the Story."

Hugs for now.....

I am Sleepy....

Oh Wow....I think I might have just told a little white lie....Sam told me that I looked a little sleepy and I proudly argued that I wasn't!!

I told him that I definitely did not need a nap.  After all, Friday night, I fell asleep on the sofa around 8:00 p.m. and after climbing into bed, I did not wake up until 8:00 Sat. morning...  That means that I slept 12 straight hours.

I did stay up until after mid-night last night, but that shouldn't phase a stepper like me.

But now, I am Sooooo sleepy that I can barely keep my eyes open...

OK..Ok...I'm gonna close my eyes and when I wake up, I'll get right back to reading your post....I guess I did tell him a fib!  I am sleepy!

Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon and a Fabulous New Year!
