9 hours on the Road

Well friends, I'm back from my wonderful girls' trip and let me just say, there really is no place like home! My suitcase is still sitting in our bedroom (unpacked) and it is probably mocking me, but my heart is full and my body is tired.  Of course, this is one indication that the trip was MARVELOUS!!

I'll start with the journey there.  It was supposed to be a quick drive...Ha, ha!!  Not really...It almost always takes at least 7 1/2 hours to get there.  It took this group of ladies 9 hours to finally roll into Branson.  Apparently, when a group of women are on a road trip, you must allow for MANY potty breaks along the way. I lost count of the number of stops that we made...after the number seven stop.  We should have worn matching t-shirts that said..."We brake for restroom stops."

By the time we checked into our hotel that evening, we were running on fumes....(We needed some Queso.)
Mexican food was calling our names, and we answered like true professionals.  Chips, salsa, lots of laughter, and perhaps some full-belly giggles....the kind that makes your mascara run.  It was a beautiful evening and after our meal, we hung out around the landing, just admiring the gorgeous Christmas lights.

The Crew....

Me and Sir Reginald

The next morning, bright and early (I think even the roosters were still snoozing)....I was wide awake!!  I went down to the lobby and grabbed me a cup of GOOD coffee, and then sat out on our balcony to take in cool weather and the freshness of the morning.

View from our balcony.

Later that morning, we had tickets to see "David" at the Sight and Sound Theater.  OH.  MY.  GOODNESS.
I've seen some good productions, but this one was amazing!  The story of David...the shepherd boy who took down Goliath, was brought to life in such a powerful, breathtaking way.  There were live animals, incredible sets, and moments that gave me chills.  I was honestly in Awe of the production.

Inside the Theater ...waiting for the Show to begin.

Back row...Me, Martha, Susan

Afterwards, our tummy's reminded us that it was 2:30 and we were hungry... so off we went to Billy Gail's Restaurant.  It you've never been, let me just say...go Hungry!
They serve breakfast all day, along with a huge menu of other items.
We enjoyed every bite!

The rest of the day was spent in pure Awe.  Branson knows how to do Christmas for sure.  Lights twinkled everywhere...on trees, rooftops, down the streets, on water tower and on every bush and street light.... ...Everywhere!!
By the time we called it a night, my friends were still chatting and laughing while I was trying to remember what a normal bedtime felt like.

Can't wait for you to hear about our Saturday doings!!  Lets just say....we were lost!

Love to you all..
Shug...

  2. My mom loved Branson, she went many times and all had good tales to tell! Your trip looks as if it did not disappoint. We just returned from a long trip, too. Lots of driving and a few ferry rides, I'm exhausted from sitting! Haha!

  3. Welcome back! I've never been to Branson but have heard it's such fun. We saw Joseph at the Sight and Sound Theater in PA and it was also amazing.
Glad you had such a great time.
