LOL.... Our air almost feels like Fall (if you stand in the shade long enough).
This past weekend, I visited the Christmas Store out in Midland with my granddaughter-in-love and baby William... Oh goodness y'all, it was like stepping into a winter wonderland that had accidentally collided with a haunted house.
One side of the store was twinkling with ornaments, all kinds of sparkly garlands and plenty of Red and Green to make Santa super proud.
The other side?
Pure Halloween chaos! Big glowing skeletons, crackling witches, a giant pink spider and plenty of pumpkins.
I really deviate from the Halloween decorations....it's just not my thing!
But, I will admit, that the creativity and imagination behind those displays were something to see.
Very Colorful for sure....

This really was a very nice store and I would go back if ever I have the opportunity.
Back home in out little town, there are several homes dressed in pumpkins and lights. I like to think of it like this....a pumpkin on a porch says, "we're grateful." A porch light glowing says, "You are welcome here."
I do love lights (ALL YEAR LONG) and I love decorating, so this little visit to the Christmas/Fall/Halloween store was right up my alley!!
Here is my prayer for the season!
May our hearts be as warm as our front porches, May our homes be filled with laughter and cinnamon, And may we all take a deep breath of this changing season and say,
"Thank you, Lord, for another turning of the year."
PUMPKINS AND PORCH LIGHTS HAVE A WAY OF BRINGING US A KIND OF PEACE THAT SOOTHES OUR HEARTS.
Shug....🎃
Thank you for the prayer. Shug, I love that store. I do like 'nice' Halloween decorations, and this store the decorations were beautiful for Halloween - I loved them!
ReplyDeleteHalloween - Thanksgiving-Christmas all kind of run together. Christmas is the best of course.
I'm not a fan of Halloween decorations, but I do love the Fall and Thanksgiving themes. This store does have some cute stuff! And yes to lights!
ReplyDeleteI loved your prayer, Shug! That does seem like a fun store, but we're not into decorating for any season except Christmas. That's just the way it is as we try to keep it simple. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI love to wander in stores like this, but never buy anything. I have to say I would not put eyeballs hanging anywhere in or out of my house.. I do agree it is really inventive and creative, all of it is. I also say nope to a Halloween tree... not saying its wrong but just nothing I would want. I love twinling lights year round and each year they call to me. the lights in my nook I bought a year ago, now come in purple, pink, green, and a few other colors and if I had someone to hang them for me, I would try the pink or purple.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would have went straight to that Christmas section in the store. It sounds delightful. Be sure to show us some of their decorations if you ever go back. Hobby Lobby and many of the stores already have a section of Christmas. I'm with you, Shug, I love the twinkling lights. What a lovely prayer this is. Thank you for sharing that. I chuckled when you said, " Our air almost feels like Fall (if you stand in the shade long enough). You crack me up sometimes, girlfriend. ; )
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Shug, doing all the things you love.
